 New Generation Theatrical, an Orlando-based non-profit that supports the theatrical arts, has announced its 2023 Season with a slate of seven shows, including two original productions written and directed by New Generation Theatrical producer Michael Knight.  In addition, in January, New Generation Theatrical will present a preseason run of last season’s sold-out show, Gothic Manor.

Rogue Stage, located in Central Florida, is releasing a 6 song EP of music from its' upcoming original rock musical 'Queen Of Swords'. The music will be available October 12th on all streaming platforms.

Shakespeare's epic Fire and Reign series continues with a dynamic production of Henry IV, Part 1, produced by Orlando Shakes in partnership with UCF. This production will run in repertory February 19 - March 21, 2020 along with Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers, as adapted by Catherine Bush. Ask anyone to describe the Three Musketeers, and you'll get the usual answers: three heroes, bound together in brotherhood, inseparable in the most dire circumstances. They were a holy trinity of masculinity and friendship, the #SquadGoals of the 19th century. But unless one were intimately familiar with Alexandre Dumas' novel or its many adaptations, five will get you ten the average Joe today would be remiss to actually name all of them. That's not the fault of the average Joe, but rather the reputation that precedes these fictional characters. Most would be familiar with what they are, not necessarily who they are.

Sometimes the piano is front and center. Other times - often - it's forgotten altogether. The ole ivories are a mere MacGuffin, and not a particularly compelling one at that. The show isn't really here to tell us about a piano, or about the characters who buy and sell it...

The Winter Park Playhouse continues it's series of professional musicals with their Fall production of I Love A Piano featuring a score of Irving Berlin favorites! This month, The Studio Theatre Tierra del Sol (806 San Marino Drive, The Villages, FL) will continue its inaugural season with the musical The Last 5 Years, composed by three-time Tony Award winner, Jason Robert Brown.

To start off the new year, The Studio Theatre at the Villages presents Noel Coward's classic, PRIVATE LIVES. Lauren Culver plays Amanda, who discovers on her honeymoon that her ex, Elyot, is staying with his new wife in the adjacent room. I talked with Lauren about the stylized comedy of the play, her character, and presenting this classic to a modern audience.
