The Robert Chesley/Jane Chambers Playwrights Project (TOSOS) (Kathleen Warnock - curator) presents Chris Weikel's 'Nelly' or The Ballad Of Nelly, the Molly House Bride, directed by Mark Finley at TAI, 150 West 30 Street (between 6 and 7 ave), 14th floor, on Sunday, December 6th at 5pm.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Diane Paulus, Artistic Director, presents a reading of TRANS SCRIPTS, a groundbreaking new play about transgender identity, written by Paul Lucas, and directed by Jo Bonney, at OBERON tonight, November 23 at 7:30PM.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 36 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2016 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 19 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration. Ask a Brit what their fondest memory of the holidays is, and they may tell you watching the annual "Panto" or Pantomime - a unique blend of musical comedy, vaudeville, slapstick, audience participation, and spectacle. But here in America, the word "pantomime" mainly conjures up images of people dressed in black, with white faces "trapped in a box." Theatre Nova, Ann Arbor's professional theatre dedicated to new plays and playwrights, is trying to change all that, as it introduces its twist on the art form with "An Almost British Christmas" opening November 27th and running through the holidays to December 20th.

Signature Theatre just announced a second one-week extension for INCIDENT AT VICHY, by Arthur Miller and directed by Michael Wilson, due to its sold-out run. INCIDENT AT VICHY will now play through Sunday, December 20, 2015. The production opens Sunday, November 15 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Since its founding in 1974 by Paul Zimet and Ellen Maddow -- former members of Joseph Chaikin's seminal Open Theater -- the Talking Band has remained a cornerstone of New York City's avant-garde theater community. La MaMa in association with Talking Band will present the world premiere of its latest work, BURNISHED BY GRIEF, a sinister, music infused romantic comedy, at La MaMa's first floor theater from January 22-February 7.

Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's NATIONAL BLACK THEATRE, the oldest continually operating black theater in New York, will present the New York City Premiere of DEAD AND BREATHING by GLAAD Media Award winner Chisa Hutchinson (She Like Girls). Directed by Obie winner Jonathan McCrory, performances of this this limited run Off-Broadway engagement run through November 23.

MCC Theater presents the New York premiere of John Pollono's LOST GIRLS. The production is directed by Jo Bonney who last collaborated with playwright John Pollono on MCC's critically acclaimed production of Small Engine Repair. LOST GIRLS opens tonight, November 9. It is scheduled through November 29, 2015.

La MaMa will honor film producer Joy Tomchin for her activism on behalf of the LGBTQ communities; Donn Russell for his commitment to and support of nontraditional theatre; and Roberta Uno for her leadership in philanthropy and cultural diversity at the annual La MaMa Gala tonight, November 2nd at La MaMa's Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E. 4 St.), it has been announced by Mia Yoo, the theater company's Artistic Director.
