Lesser America (The Bachelors, Carnival Kids, Trevor) will present HALF MOON BAY by Dan Moyer. It will be directed by Jess Chayes (AD of Peter and The Starcatcher) starring Keilly McQuail (You Got Older, Her Requiem) and Gabriel King (These Seven Sicknesses). Previews begin May 12 at Cherry Lane Theatre, where Lesser America is the inaugural Company in Residence. Opening set for Thursday, May 19.

Signature Theatre has announced that Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks will be the Residency One Playwright for the 2016-2017 season.

McCarter Theatre Center's Resident Playwright/Artistic Director Emily Mann and Managing Director Timothy J. Shields have announced Debbie Bisno as the theatre's new Resident Producer. Ms. Bisno, a Broadway producer with two decades in the commercial and non-profit theatrical arenas, assumes her new leadership role immediately. Ms. Bisno will be based in Princeton as an important member of the artistic team at McCarter, and she will maintain and expand McCarter's relationships in NY, regionally, and abroad. Her existing company, Bisno Productions, will continue operations in Manhattan.

James Houghton, Richard Rodgers Director ofJuilliard's Drama Division, announced today that Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire will join Marsha Normanas new co-director of Juilliard's Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program, beginning in the fall 2016 semester. Mr. Lindsay-Abaire, an alumnus of the program, will succeed Christopher Durang, who has served as co-director of the program with Ms. Norman since 1994.

Talley's Folly is the story of one night in the lives of two unlikely sweethearts, Matt Friedman and Sally Talley. The one-act play takes place in a dilapidated boathouse on the Talley farm in Missouri. It is the Fourth of July in 1944.

Due to popular pre-sale demand, Aurora Theatre Company announces that it will again extend the West Coast Premiere of Sarah Treem's (Netflix's House of Cards, HBO's In Treatment, Showtime's The Affair) thought-provoking THE HOW AND THE WHY, the third fully staged production to be performed in the company's second stage performance space, Harry's UpStage. Acclaimed Bay Area actress and director Joy Carlin (Talley's Folly, After the Revolution, Body Awareness, Jack Goes Boating, Awake and Sing!) helms this intimate and keenly perceptive play. Two Colombian theater artists -- Bernard Rey and Nube Sandoval -- are the recipients of the first-ever Ellen Stewart International Award, it has been announced by La MaMa, the world-renowned experimental theater company founded by the late Ellen Stewart and now in its 54th season on East 4th Street in New York City.
