Ayad Akhtar's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Disgraced kicks off Philadelphia Theatre Company's 2015-2016 season, October 9 - November 8 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets).  Directed by Mary B. Robinson, the ensemble cast features Anthony Mustafa Adair, Ben Graney, Aime Donna Kelly, Monette Magrath and Pej Vahdat.

After presenting more than 100 productions spanning three decades, Chicago's award-winning Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. has announced it will close its doors following its 30th anniversary season. The company's final season will open with Peter Morris' powerful war drama GUARDIANS, followed by three soon-to-be-announced production, plus its 28th annual Abbie Hoffman Died for Our Sins Theater Festival.

Signature Theatre just announced one additional, final performance for their critically acclaimed production of JOHN, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Baker (The Flick) and directed by Tony Award-winner Sam Gold (Fun Home). The production, which kicked off Signature's 25th Anniversary Season, will now play its final performance on Sunday, September 6th at 7:30pm. All other performances are sold out. 

Aurora Theatre Company opens its 24th season with the Bay Area Premiere of award-winning playwright Marisa Wegrzyn's (Hickorydickory, The Butcher of Baraboo) MUD BLUE SKY.

New York Madness will Launch their Season on Sept 22nd at 8pm with Featured Guest Playwright Neil LaBute (The Way We Get By, Bash: Latter-Day Plays, Outer Critics Circle Award for Fat Pig, Independent Spirit Award for In the Company of Men, Reasons to be Pretty, Reason to be Happy, American Academy Arts and Letters.) 

Staircase Theatre and CJSF Radio presents Movin' On Up-Staged Readings. In its second year, Movin' On Up will feature two new one act plays by local, emerging (and very talented!) playwrights, Christopher Cook and CJ McGillivray.

Cape Playhouse Producer, Mark Cuddy, announced the entire 2016 season repertory to a hundred donors at a Celebration Party on Sunday night. It is the first time in its history that the full slate has been revealed during the previous season.

Casting is set for Signature Theatre's world premiere of A.R. Gurney's new play Love & Money, directed by Mark Lamos. The production runs tonight, August 15, to September 27, 2015 with an August 24, 2015 opening night in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). The show is a co-production with Westport Country Playhouse.

On the heels of receiving the coveted 'Pick of the Fringe' award for her one-woman show, Melissa Ritz brings Bombshell of Rhythm: The Life & Secrets of Ina Ray Hutton to NYC's SoHo Playhouse, now through August 30th.

On September 26, the Long Beach Playhouse opens its 87th Mainstage Season with lower ticket prices for Friday night shows. Instead of paying $24, the Friday night single ticket price will be $20.

Staircase Theatre presents the re-imagining of their wildly successful 2010 hit, Oh The Humanity (and other good intentions), directed by Brian Cochrane, featuring Maryanne Renzetti, Brad Duffy and Tom Pickett, Stage Managed by Lois Dawson with Lighting and Sound Design by Stephen Bulat.

Shakespeare has become as much a part of summertime in Houston as baseball and backyard barbecues. Produced by the University of Houston's School of Theatre & Dance, the Houston Shakespeare Festival (HSF) has brought the Bard to Bayou City residents for four decades.

Ten playwrights have won the New York Community Trust Helen Merrill Playwright Awards, honoring established and emerging writers for the theater. The winners are currently producing work on topics ranging from basement dwelling families in the middle of the 21st century to the 19th century all-black community that faced destruction in order to create Central Park.
