Playwright Chiara Atik has won the 2022 Harold and Mimi Steinberg / American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award for their play “Poor Clare.”

Poul Ruder's 1998 operatic take on The Handmaid's Tale takes flight once again at the English National Opera featuring a new production and the West End debut of Camille Cottin (Killing Eve, Call My Agent).

The winners have been unveiled for this year’s Olivier Awards with Mastercard, British theatre’s biggest night, which took place this evening (Sunday 10 April) at the Royal Albert Hall in London, hosted by Jason Manford.

Musicalfare Theatre presents the regional premiere of THE OTHER JOSH COHEN, running April 20th – May 22nd at MusicalFare Theatre, written by David Rossmer & Steve Rosen, directed by Randall Kramer, and music direction by Theresa Quinn.

Gary Morgenstein’s original play A Tomato Can’t Grow In The Bronx makes its world premiere this month at Center Playhouse in Freehold. The play is produced by Bob Szita and directed by Bernice Garfield-Szita, who serves as the theatre’s Artistic Director.

Dakota Wesleyan University Theatre mounted a visually exciting production of ROCK OF AGES for Mitchell area theater audiences. Opening moments of the production were colorful and stimulating, with the use of some sophisticated strobe and lighting effects. The audience was prepped for a time warp of hair band highlights and the energy on stage with this cast was electric.

Stag & Lion Theatre Company will present William Shakespeare's HENRY IV, both parts I and II, in repertory at The Trinity Theatre. The shows will run on alternating nights from Wednesday, April 27th through Sunday, May 8th at 422 West 57th Street in Manhattan.

Kentucky Shakespeare returns with the free SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARKS tour this spring. The 6-actor, 85-minute production of JULUS CAESAR will tour to multiple parks in Indiana and Kentucky this April and May.

The quick pace was especially important in a five-act opera some productions turn into a turgid ordeal. No chance of that with Abel leading the San Diego Symphony.
