In celebration of World Peace Day and Pope Francis's visit, the MidAtlantic Opera (MAO) donated one-third of net proceeds from 'A Prayer For Peace,' MAO's inaugural concert on the Perelman Stage of the Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall on Saturday, October 17 to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for refugee relief. Excerpts from Yunus Emre (1946), an oratorio composed by Ahmed Adnan Saygun, the most important Turkish classical music composer of the twentieth century, will be performed at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall at 8 PM tonight, October 17, 2015 as part of MidAtlantic Opera and Seton Hall University's co-production entitled A Prayer for Peace. This rarely-heard piece will be sung in Turkish by the 100-voice Seton Hall University choir.

Every season, Florida Grand Opera's Education Department creates a broad range of engaging music education and community programs. More than 20,000 children, families and community members will take part in Florida Grand Opera programs this season - in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.
Following the critical success of last fall's production of Die Fledermaus, Sarasota Opera will open it's 2014 Winter Festival Season on Saturday, February 8, 2014 marking the company's 55th consecutive season of bringing grand opera to the Florida gulf coast. Season highlights include the return of some of Sarasota Opera's most acclaimed productions, the Sarasota Opera premiere of Verdi's Jérusalem as part of the ongoing Verdi Cycle, and the debut of new concerts as part of the Sarasota Opera Concert Series.
