American Ballet Theatre to Premiere Highlights of THE NUTCRACKER

This holiday season, American Ballet Theatre will premiere a special presentation of The Nutcracker with a filmed performance of the Grand Pas de Deux for Clara and The Prince on Friday, December 4 at 6pm ET on American Ballet Theatre’s YouTube Channel, IGTV, and on the Segerstrom Center for the Arts website, Facebook, and Instagram.

American Ballet Theatre Cancels 2021 Season at the Metropolitan Opera House

American Ballet Theatre announced today the cancellation of its 2021 Season at the  Metropolitan Opera House. The season, originally planned for June and July of 2021, has been  cancelled due to health and safety concerns related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and  restrictions on non-essential gatherings.

American Ballet Theatre Announces 2020 Promotions

Joo Won Ahn, Aran Bell, Skylar Brandt, Thomas Forster, Calvin Royal III and Cassandra Trenary have been appointed to the rank of Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre. Gabe Stone Shayer has been promoted to the rank of Soloist. The promotions, announced today by ABT Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie, are effective immediately.

American Ballet Theatre Cancels 2020 Season

American Ballet Theatre announced today the cancellation of its 2020 season at the Metropolitan Opera House. The season, marking the Company's 80th Anniversary, was scheduled for May 11-July 4, 2020. The cancellation, necessitated by the public health crisis arising from the coronavirus pandemic, was announced today.

The Australian Ballet Appoints David Hallberg As Artistic Director

The Australian Ballet today announced the appointment of David Hallberg to succeed current Artistic Director David McAllister who retires in December 2020. David Hallberg is currently The Australian Ballet's Resident Guest Artist and is a Principal Dancer with both American Ballet Theatre and The Bolshoi Ballet, and is Principal Guest Artist with The Royal Ballet. He has been a regular guest artist with The Australian Ballet for ten years.

2020 National Dance Presenters' Forum is Now Accepting Applications

Jacob's Pillow, in partnership with the Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP) and the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA), invites early career dance presenters to apply for an immersive professional development experience at Jacob's Pillow, August 5-8, 2020. The third annual Forum, reinstated in July 2018 in response to field-wide interest, is developed in collaboration with key partners from across the U.S. and designed to be a catalytic opportunity for early career dance presenters.

Kaatsbaan Announces New Leadership For 2020

Kevin McKenzie, Co-founder and Chair of the Board of Trustees, and Sonja Kostich, Executive Director, of Kaatsbaan | cultural park for dance announced today that Stella Abrera will join the organization as its new Artistic Director, effective January 1, 2020. Joining Ms. Kostich at the prominent 30-year-old Hudson Valley dance organization, Ms. Abrera's appointment will expand the portfolio of Kaatsbaan as the second step in its strategic plan. With distinct histories in dance, Ms. Abrera and Ms. Kostich will unite their efforts to champion the development of varied programs and cultural offerings. Partnering and reporting to an influential board of trustees, the Artistic and Executive Directors will spearhead major initiatives to contribute to both the national and international dance communities, as well as the Hudson Valley arts landscape, cultivating relationships with a variety of external stakeholders and community partners.
