The Parliament House Orlando is excited to announce its next mainstage production: The return of Naked Boys Singing!

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced today that Ottawa native, 12-time JUNO Award winner, Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee, and music legend Bruce Cockburn will host and perform at the 2017 JUNO Songwriters' Circle, to be held in the NAC Theatre at the National Arts Centre on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. EST.

In January, 2016, a new face arrived at the Footlight Theatre at the World-Famous Parliament House Resort in Orlando, FL. It was Tim Evanicki, the new Artistic Director of the theatre tasked with filling the 165-seat cabaret-style theatre on weekends.

The John W. Engeman Theater announces the cast and creative team for 1776. Performances begin on Thursday, September 22 at 8:00pm and run through Sunday, November 6, 2016.

Julian Calor has accomplished a lot for an artist of such tender years. One of the major problems with the Loman family in Arthur Miller's masterpiece "Death of a Salesman", currently closing out the season at ArtsWest, is that the family doesn't communicate with each other. They bluster and puff up about things that may or may not have happened but they never really talk to each other about what's important. And while that lack of communication may serve the story well it does not serve the performance as the same could be said for the production at ArtsWest itself. During it's over 3 hour runtime there were a lot of emotion and stirring speeches being made but for the most part the actors were not connecting with each other and if they aren't connecting with each other then the audience cannot connect with them.

Under the direction of ArtsWest's Artistic Director Mathew Wright, Arthur Miller is brought to the stage in a stripped down, elegant and savage production of a tragic love story between father and son. This thrilling work lays bare the raw emotions of love, the desire for success, and then need for compassion in a horror story of shame, guilt and expectations run amok.

MAD COW THEATRE announces the return of a singular downtown Orlando event - the 14th annual Orlando Cabaret Festival, featuring cabaret artists from Central Florida and beyond. FOREVER PLAID: PLAID TIDINGS is a holiday sequel to the 1990 Off-Broadway show, FOREVER PLAID, written by Stuart Ross. I have not seen the original show, but can now promise that it is totally unnecessary to have seen the original in order to enjoy the heaven out of the sequel. It is an uncanny and unsuspectingly hilarious holiday musical. The underlying plot is quite bizarre, but the script is so well written that no one seemed to care. The sequel continues from the original storyline, where a clean-cut, male quartet has been sent back to earth (following an unfortunate bus accident with a group of Catholic schoolgirls); this time to bring harmony and good cheer to an inharmonious planet.

This holiday season will certainly be more cheerful with The Winter Park Playhouse production of Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings running November 13-22 and then again December 3-19.

It's one of Shakespeare's more raucous comedies so in order to do it right it's best to just let it happen and not get in its way too much. Luckily director Jane Nichols and the folks at Seattle Shakespeare Company understand that about "The Comedy of Errors" but that didn't stop them from adding in some glorious bits of slapstick and physical comedy to this already funny tale, elevating it to hilarious.

THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, a fast and funny farce filled with mixed up mayhem, leads off Seattle Shakespeare Company's 25th Anniversary Season. Directed by Jane Nichols, THE COMEDY OF ERRORS will play at the Leo K. Theatre at Seattle Repertory Theatre, tonight, September 17-October 11, 2015.
