Central Florida favorite Kevin Kelly revives his celebrated cabaret SON OF A PREACHER MAN: OR HOW BARRY MANILOW SAVED MY LIFE tonight, August 25, at the Parisian Room.

THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, a fast and funny farce filled with mixed up mayhem, leads off Seattle Shakespeare Company's 25th Anniversary Season. Directed by Jane Nichols, THE COMEDY OF ERRORS will play at the Leo K. Theatre at Seattle Repertory Theatre, September 17-October 11, 2015.

The Winter Park Playhouse features veteran actress and vocal artist Kate O'Neal in the popular Spotlight Cabaret Series today and tomorrow, July 15 and 16, 2015.  Ms. O'Neal will premiere her new cabaret, which will feature all genres of music- musical theater, standards, opera, pop and country - including all of the songs she has loved performing and some she has always longed to sing.  Kate will be accompanied by the Playhouse Musical Director, Christopher Leavy.

Stephen Sondheim is the greatest writer that the musical theatre has ever known. Now, obviously, intelligent minds can disagree, but if you do, I'm sorry, you're wrong. From story integration, to compelling characterizations, to insightful and witty lyrics, to complex and engaging melodies, no one has ever done it better than the man that many call "The Master." Sondheim's genius comes from the fact that every syllable he writes, and every note he composes, is in service of the story that he is telling; which is why I am always apprehensive of seeing one of the numerous revues of his work. Though he has been intimately involved in such shows as SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM, MARRY ME A LITTLE, and PUTTING IT TOGETHER, which is running through May 9th at The Winter Park Playhouse, it often feels slightly disingenuous to see his songs, which fit so seamlessly amidst their original works, shoe-horned into completely contrived circumstances. Fortunately, under the direction of Roy Alan (who also choreographed), WPP's production makes each of Sondheim's beloved songs feel fresh, exciting, and (nearly) wholly original.

Performances are Today and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm, Thursdays and Saturdays at 2:00 pm. Additional matinee performances include Sunday, April 26 and May 3 at 2:00 pm, Today April 24 and Wednesday May 6 at 2:00 pm. A special 'Third Thursday' performance is April 30 at 7:30 pm and the preview performance is Thursday, April 16 at 7:30 pm.

As part of The Winter Park Playhouse's popular Spotlight Cabaret Series, professional vocalist and performer Kevin Kelly will debut his new cabaret Everything Old Is New Again March 11, 12 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. Playhouse Musical Director Christopher Leavy will accompany on the piano.

Your last name doesn't have to end in a vowel to know that there has ever been a cooler group of people to walk the earth than the Rat Pack. In The Winter Park Playhouse's latest show, THE RAT PACK LOUNGE, Frank, Dean, and Sammy (do they even need last names?) get a second chance to bring their unique brand of cool back to their home away from home, the Vegas Strip. The show runs through February 14th, and while every performance is completely sold out, WPP does occasionally have cancellations, so check with the theatre's box office for available performances.

Performances of 'The Game's Afoot' will be over two weekends tonight, October 25th and November 1st at 8 P.M and 3 P.M. matinee performances on Sunday, October 26th and November 2nd at Houghton Hall - Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street in scenic Northport Village.
