Using almost all of the same cast and elements from their initial 2010 production of the Elvis musical ALL SHOOK UP (at its former home in the OC Pavilion in Santa Ana), the Orange County-based 3D Theatricals is once again mounting a newer, more rousingly-amplified revival in their new home at the Plummer Auditorium in Fullerton through May 29, 2011. The results? A cute, crowd-pleaser of a show performed by an awesome cast that beams their inherent silliness like a badge of honor.

The second longest-running show in Broadway history, CATS, that renowned Andrew Lloyd Webber musical that purred its way to a Tony win for Best Musical in 1982, is certainly one of those shows almost everyone and their mother has seen at least once. It is also most notably known for being the musical that begat the ubiquitous musical theater staple 'Memory.' But more than that, CATS is also a musical wholly representative of the era that gave birth to it, the kind of critique-proof show that is shrewdly designed as an entertainment juggernaut performance piece greeted with enthusiastic cheers and repeat viewings. Musical Theatre West in Long Beach offers a lively, entertaining, Broadway-caliber revival through February 27 at the Carpenter Center for the Performing Arts.
Musical Theatre West is proud to announce the opening of its production of CATS at the beautiful 1,070-seat Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach. CATS previews February 11 and runs February 12 through February 27, 2011. Dana Solimando directs and choreographs Musical Theatre West's production of CATS with musical direction by Dennis Castellano.
