Single Tickets for MCT's 2013-14 Season Now On Sale

Individual tickets for Milwaukee Chamber Theatre's (MCT) 39th season, are now on sale. The season, entitled "Our Friends & Neighbors: Behind Closed Doors," will feature five exciting productions performed at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway, Milwaukee. Tickets, $15-$40, can be purchased at the Broadway Theatre Center Box Office or by phone at (414) 291-7800. Tickets are also available online at milwaukeechambertheatre.com.

HAPPIEST SONG PLAYS LAST & Schwimmer-Directed SEX WITH STRANGERS Join LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE in 2nd Stage's 2013-14 Season!

Second Stage Theatre's (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) upcoming 35th Anniversary Season will kick off with the previously announced new musical LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, by James Lapine and William Finn, and will continue with the New York premiere of Quiara Alegria Hudes' THE HAPPIEST SONG PLAYS LAST, the follow-up to last season's acclaimed Pulitzer Prize-winning, Water by the Spoonful, and the final play in Ms. Hudes' Elliot trilogy, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson. The season will also include the New York Premiere of Laura Eason's provocative play,SEX WITH STRANGERS, directed by David Schwimmer.

David Schwimmer Directs BIG LAKE BIG CITY World Premiere at Lookingglass Theatre, Now thru 8/11

Closing out its 25th Anniversary Season, Lookingglass Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of Big Lake Big City, written by Keith Huff and directed by Ensemble Member David Schwimmer. Tickets are now on sale for the production, running tonight, June 19 - August 11, 2013 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson.

Steppenwolf to Host FIRST LOOK 101 and PROFESSIONALS' WEEKEND Initiatives, Summer 2013

Steppenwolf Theatre Company will host two initiatives giving behind-the-scenes looks at the process of developing and producing new plays for local theatergoers and theater professionals from around the country alike. As part of the eighth annual First Look Repertory of New Work, Steppenwolf continues First Look 101, a unique two-month experience from June 1 - August 10 that takes enrolled participants on a backstage journey through all aspects of the new play development process-from the first rehearsal to the final performance. In addition, Steppenwolf hosts a Professionals' Weekend, August 8 - 11, during which theater practitioners join Steppenwolf in conversation about new plays, and attend First Look productions and readings in addition to special industry events.

League of Chicago Theatres Announces Summer 2013 Highlights

Summer 2013 will bring a wealth of new works to Chicago stages, closing out this season with some of the most exciting theater in the country, and holding Chicago's place as a leader on the national scene. Offerings from the city's more than 200 producing theaters includes a range of special summer programming, featuring everything from the latest musicals and highly anticipated world premieres to updated classics.

The Antaeus Company Presents MRS. WARREN'S PROFESSION, Now thru 4/21

Kitty Warren has worked hard to provide a good life for her daughter. But when Vivie finds out the truth about her mother's profession, sparks fly. The Antaeus Company, L.A.'s multiple award-winning classical theater company, presents Mrs. Warren's Profession, the superbly intelligent-and still shocking- powerhouse of a play by George Bernard Shaw that was banned for eight years on the English stage. Robin Larsen directs the fully double cast production March 14 through April 21, with low-priced previews beginning tonight, March 7.

Polarity Ensemble Theatre Debuts NEVER THE BRIDESMAID, Now thru 4/7

Polarity Ensemble Theatre presents the world premiere of Never the Bridesmaid, a sweet, funny, life-affirming comedy by Chicago playwright Bill Jepsen. Directed by award-winning director Richard Shavzin, Never the Bridesmaid runs at the Polarity space at the Josephinum Academy, 1500 N. Bell St. in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, tonight, February 26 through April 7, 2013. Press night is Thursday, February 28 at 8:00 p.m.

The Ruckus Theater and Tympanic Theatre Company to Present BREWED, Opening 3/2

The Ruckus Theater and Tympanic Theatre Company have announced their upcoming world premiere co-production of Brewed. Developed over the course of 8 years through a series of workshops, the script of Brewed is written by Scott T. Barsotti and directed by Anna C. Bahow. The cast of seven women is a motley crew of Ruckus and Tympanic regulars and Chicago theater favorites. Brewed is performed at Theater Wit (1229 W. Belmont) March 2-24, 2013. Thursday-Saturday performances are at 8:00pm; Sunday performances are at 7:00pm. Preview is on Friday, March 1 and tickets are $12. Press opening is on Monday, March 4, 2013. General tickets are $17. Theatre Memphis Opens A STEADY RAIN, 2/15

The MidSouth premier of A Steady Rain by Keith Huff will run at Theatre Memphis in the Next Stage February 15 - March 3, 2013. A gritty drama with epic consequences, the show follows two policemen who are best friends but who are very different and who must come to grips with what happens to them during the course of duty and the investigation that follows. Bearing the responsibility for their egregious failure to assess a situation accurately leads to a tragedy that threatens to rip them apart and destroy the boundaries of their relationship. The show features two actors, John Maness and John Moore, and is directed by Jerry Chipman.

A Chick & A Dude Productions Will Present A STEADY RAIN, Beginning 2/21

A Chick & A Dude Productions presents the Austin premiere of Keith Huff's A Steady Rain. ALL THE RAGE, Directed by Seth Barrish, Begins Off-Broadway Engagement Today

piece by piece productions, Rising Phoenix Repertory, and The Barrow Group have announced that All The Rage, written and performed by Martin Moran, and directed by Seth Barrish, will begin performances today, January 19, at 7pm at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater, 416 West 42 Street, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. The opening night has been set for Wednesday, January 30, at 7pm.
