Rehearsals began this week for the new West End cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child who will start their performances at the Palace Theatre in London's West End on 24 May 2017 following the final performance from the current cast on 21 May 2017.

At a ceremony held today at London's Cafe de Paris, host Steve Furst announced the nominees for the 17th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards, the only major theatre prize-giving decided entirely by the theatregoers themselves.

With Sinbad the Sailor opening on Monday and Rani Moorthy's Whose Sari Now? currently playing in Gerry's studio space, Artistic Director of Theatre Royal Stratford East, Kerry Michael today announces the theatre's forthcoming Spring/Summer 2017 season.

Sonia Friedman, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions, producers of HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD, announce today that a further 60,000 tickets will be released for sale on Tuesday, 22 November 2016, at 11am GMT, for performances from 13 December 2017 - 4 February 2018. Tickets are priced from £15 per part and for every performance there will be over 300 tickets at £20 or less per part.  This will be followed by regular ticket releases throughout the next year, details of which will be announced via the official Harry Potter and the Cursed Child website, social media channels and the official newsletter.  

New work by Inua Ellams, Ya?l Farber, DC Moore, Lindsey Ferrentino and Nina Raine is announced today by Rufus Norris, Director of the National Theatre. Four world premieres and two European premieres are further announced as forthcoming productions for the National Theatre in 2017.  

The West End production remains as sold-out and beloved as ever, and rumors have long been circulating that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will make a Broadway transfer. Now, according to Page Six, the eight Harry Potter story will make its debut at the Al Hirschfeld next season. Currently home to the long-running Kinky Boots, if Cursed Child were to move into the Al Hirschfeld, it would be a major score for Jujamcyn, which has already announced that the expected Disney juggernaut, Frozen, will move into the St. James following a major renovation to accommodate Elsa'a ice castle.

On September 18th, actors from the original Harry Potter film series attended a special performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in order to benefit Lumos, the charity of Harry Potter author, J.K Rowling. Is it time for some more movie magic? HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD could be Hollywood's next Harry Potter-inspired trilogy, according to the New York Daily News. 

At this weekend's UK premiere of HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD, Potter scribe JK Rowling revealed to Reuters that the story will mark the final chapter in the wizardry tale.
