June's program features tunes from the 7 musicals nominated for the 2017 "Best Musical" and "Best Revival of a Musical" Tony Award. Audiences can expect to hear songs from the grounbreaking scores of Dear Evan Hansen, Groundhog Day, Come From Away, The Great Comet, Hello, Dolly!, Falsettos, and Miss Saigon.

The remainder of the cast includes Joshua Balm, Katie Bartow, Patrick Beasley, Elizabeth Birger, Beth Borders, Andy Garrison, Dalton Homolka, Evan Lovelace, Ethan Miller, Eric Morris, Brooke Myers, Fisher Stewart, Jackson Tomlin, and Kyra Weinberger. 

The Barn Players Community Theatre held its annual Barney Awards and Volunteer Appreciation Celebration this week.

The high quality of productions such as THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, which opened on Friday September 18, is why The Barn Players won the 2014 Broadway World Regional Award for Outstanding Theater of the Year in the Kansas City Region. Kip Simmons directs the musical based on the 1967 film of the same name, starring Julie Andrews. Richard Morris wrote the original story and screenplay for Universal Pictures. CHRYSANTHEMUM, which opened in London in 1956, was the basis for the story and screenplay.

The hilarious production of the French musical La Cage aux Folles currently plays at the Barn Players in Mission, Kan. The musical based on the play by the same name by Jean Poiret opened on Friday night November 7 and runs through November 23. Kipp Simmons directs the Barn Players production with musical direction by Martha Risser and choreography by Rob Reeder.
