Photo Flash: First Look at SHE LOVES ME at Musical Theater Heritage
The MTH Theater at Crown Center presents She Loves Me, its first book musical of the season. Artistic Director Sarah Crawford will direct a fifteen person ensemble led by Kansas City favorite Lauren Braton in the role of Amalia. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
The cast also includes Joshua Balm, Katie Bartow, Patrick Beasley, Elizabeth Birger, Beth Borders, Andy Garrison, Dalton Homolka, Evan Lovelace, Ethan Miller, Eric Morris, Brooke Myers, Fisher Stewart, Jackson Tomlin, and Kyra Weinberger.
With a melodic and witty score by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof) and book by Joe Masteroff (Cabaret), She Loves Me is based on a play by Miklos Laszlo that also became the basis of the classic films The Shop Around the Corner and You've Got Mail. The story follows Amalia and Georg two feuding clerks in a European parfumerie during the 1930s who secretly find solace in their anonymous romantic pen pals, little knowing their respective correspondents are actually each other! The 2016 Broadway revival of She Loves Me was nominated for 8 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical! It is widely considered, the most charming musical ever written.
