As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, the producers of Hamilton recently sent out a casting notice specifying they are 'looking for non-white men and women, ages 20s to 30s, for both the Broadway production and upcoming national tours. No theatre experience necessary.' Representatives for the production say the language used was approved by Actors' Equity, and the show's producers have just released the following statement on the issue.

The Dolphin Show, America's largest student-produced musical, proudly announces GYPSY as the 74th Annual Dolphin Show. GYPSY is to be directed by School of Communications senior Aaron Simon Gross and produced by School of Communication seniors Brandon Nadig and Alexandra Wolfe, with support from a cast and team of over 150 Northwestern University students. GYPSY will run for five performances (with one being pay-what-you-decide) from January 22nd through January 30th in Cahn Auditorium, with tickets going on sale to the general public on November 30th.

Actors' Equity Association and Cirque du Soleil Theatrical, the theatrical division of Cirque du Soleil and the division charged with producing shows for Broadway, have entered into an agreement for all future Cirque du Soleil Theatrical productions on Broadway (as well as pre-Broadway and post-Broadway tours) to be produced under Equity contracts.
