At 5:30pm tonight, January 19, 2017, at sunset the eve of the Inauguration, more than 500 theaters, ensembles and companies, high school and university theater programs will gather across the country to light a light and make a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone - regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

WHO'S HOLIDAY! Playwright Sues Dr. Seuss Enterprises for Cancelation of Play

Earlier this year, an off-Broadway production of WHO'S HOLIDAY!, a new play by Matthew Lombardo, was canceled by the Shubert Organization they received complaints from Dr. Seuss Enterprises. Now according to the New York Times, the playwright is suing the owner of copyrights for Seuss' works, arguing that the 'highly transformative' material does not in fact infringe on How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

The production of WHO'S HOLIDAY!, the World Premiere of Matthew Lombardo's Christmas Comedy in Couplets, to be directed by Carl Andress and starring Tony Award Nominee Jennifer Simard, who was scheduled to play a middle-aged 'Cindy Lou Who' has postponed performances.

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting hosted the 11th Annual Stella by Starlight Benefit Gala last night at The Prince George Ballroom in New York City.
