The sixth annual SUNSET STRIP MUSIC FESTIVAL (SSMF) came to a close on Saturday (August 3) with performances on the closed-off Sunset Strip for more than 15,000 fans by headliners LINKIN PARK as well as AWOLNATION, BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB, FINCH and STREET DRUM CORPS. Artists that rocked the East Stage included WALE, LOGIC, SLICK RICK & DOUG E. FRESH, ASHER ROTH and ZEALE. More than 30 additional artists performed throughout the day on the new Viper Room outdoor stage, as well as indoors at The Roxy and Whisky A Go-Go into the early morning hours. Festival highlights included surprise guests Chris Brown and rapper YG sitting in with WALE, Wayne Brady joiningDOUG E. FRESH's set for a freestyle session and drummer Adrian Young from No Doubt playing with STREET DRUM CORPS.
GIBSON GUITARTOWN ON THE SUNSET STRIP is set to unveil its third installment of art guitars on Wednesday, July 17 at aspecial VIP reception at Hornburg Land Rover on The Sunset Strip. The public art exhibit features 10-foot tall art guitar sculptures celebrating artists and musicians who have influenced The Sunset Strip. The current selection includes works celebrating 2013 Sunset Strip Music Festival (SSMF) honoree Joan Jett, Janis Joplin, Love, ZZ Top, Alice Cooper and Debbie Harry.

Yesterday, June 8, the third annual 'NewNowNext Awards' were held at The Edison in Los Angeles, California. The event raises much-needed funds for the women-specific services of the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center. This year's event will feature a special performance by Heart and Linda Perry, and special appearances by Renee Zellweger, and Sarah Silverman. The dinner menu will be designed by Jamie Lauren of 'Top Chef.'
