CBS announced today that the fourth season of comedy series LIFE IN PIECES will premiere with two original episodes, Thursday, April 18 (8:30-9:00 and 9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. On April 25, LIFE IN PIECES will begin airing in its regular time period on Thursdays at 9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT. This season, the Short family welcomes a few new family members and weathers an unexpected health crisis, plus some long-hidden secrets are revealed in an unexpected way.

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) presents the nineteenth edition of LOOT: MAD About Jewelry, its annual exhibition and sale of one-of-a-kind contemporary jewelry. Open to the public April 9 through April 13, following the Opening Benefit on April 8, LOOT 2019 showcases the work of fifty-five emerging and acclaimed international jewelry artists and designers, most of whom have never been shown in New York. The event provides the rare opportunity for collectors and jewelry enthusiasts to meet and acquire pieces from some of the most innovative creators in the field.

There is something for everyone in this offering. As the event's title suggests, rather than a single fully produced multi-act production, audience members are served ten small plates, each one running about ten minutes by an ensemble cast of six that includes BSC returnees Peggy Pharr Wilson, Keri Safran, Robert Zukerman and welcomes Sarah Goeke, Michael Fell and Deshawn Mitchell. Directing credits are split equally between BSC Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and returning for his third year, Matthew Penn each responsible for five of the pieces.

Wallach Artist-in-Residence; Ives's Central Park in the Dark; and Brahms's Symphony No. 1, Thursday, March 21, 2019, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 23 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m.

The play seems to be a retrospective of Shakespeare's career, with a strong note of self-parody. And with a playwright as fecund as Shakespeare, a 'greatest hits album' would have to be full to bursting. The Overture Awards provides $4,000 to six area high school students for education and training expenses, with eighteen finalists each winning $1,000. Taking a page from the NCAA College Basketball Tournament's "March Madness," famed comedy venue Carolines on Broadway will present its 13th annual "Carolines Comedy Madness," a five-round comedy competition in which 64 comedians will go head to head with audience members deciding who advances to the next rounds and who will be crowned the tournament champion.
