After introducing her debut single “I Got It,” rising singer-songwriter Ogi has announced her latest offering, “Envy,” available now at all DSPs and streaming services. Black Violin, the genre-bending group that merges hip hop with classical, returns to MPAC as part of its 2022 Impossible Tour.

With creative collaborations including Kanye West, Wu-Tang Clan, Wyclef Jean, Lil Wayne, and Alicia Keys – NPR has praised Black Violin, saying “their music will keep classical music alive for the next generation.” Black Violin will make their only Connecticut tour stop at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, April 10, 2022 with two performances at 4:30pm and 8:00pm.

Production designer and creative director David Korins returns to the Oscars, having been the designer in 2019. Korins’s prolific work for Broadway includes the Tony® Award-winning musicals “Hamilton” and “Dear Evan Hansen,” as well as “Beetlejuice.' He has also designed for Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Andrea Bocelli, and more.

The program features a new work by 2021-22 Artist-in-Residence Katherine Young, We are all lichens for bass flute, tenor saxophone, violin, cello, feedback piano, drum kit, and live electronics, in which improvisation permeates the piece as musicians improvise extended passages based on carefully workshopped materials.

ThankYouX, the artist who started on the streets of LA and has exhibited paintings and sculptures in museums around the world; Emonee LaRussa, a two-time Emmy-winning director and animator that has worked with Kanye West, Lil Nas X and Megan Thee Stallion; and Andre Oshea, a 3D animator that has worked with Snapchat and John Legend are the artists.

Diplo’s has released first full-length of electronic music in 18 years—is out now on the Higher Ground imprint of his own Mad Decent. He also shares the video for the previously released track “Don’t Forget My Love” with Miguel, directed by the Kinopravda collective and shot by “Euphoria” cinematographer Marcell Rév. Black Violin is the Grammy-nominated band led by classically trained string players Wil B. (viola) and Kev Marcus (violin). Joining them onstage are DJ SPS and drummer Nat Stokes. The band uses their unique blend of classical and hip-hop music to overcome stereotypes while encouraging people of all ages, races, and economic backgrounds to join together to break down cultural barriers.

The upcoming dates follow last month’s release of Ogi’s acclaimed debut single, “I Got It,” which was featured on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music World First Show. Produced by GRAMMY® Award-winner No I.D. (Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kanye West), the track is accompanied by an official music video.

“2am” is the second track to preview the album following “Wake Me Up”. “2am” was produced by John Hill (Portugal The Man, Florence + The Machine, Cage The Elephant ) and Dan Carey (Tame Impala, Fontaines D.C.), and recorded during sessions at Real World Studios, Bath and Carey’s studio in south London.
