In 2013, Actor Friend published his/her first book #SOBLESSED, with the follow-up #GRATEFUL available this year just in time for the holidays. With the success of #SOBLESSED, and its star-studded audio version, A.F. brought the book to the stage in concert form. After two sold-out runs at 54 Below, the show is back for what might be its final performance ever, Monday, July 27th at 9:30 pm. As always, the show benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) presented Women of Note, a one-night-only concert event celebrating the women writers who are changing the landscape of musical theatre. Women of Note took place at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 W. 42nd St.) on Monday, July 20 at 8:00 pm.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the success of the premiere concert reading of the first act of DreamWorks Theatricals new stage adaptation of The Prince of Egypt which was part of Bay Street Theater's 24th Annual Summer Gala which took place in Sag Harbor at the Long Wharf on July 11, 2015 to benefit Bay Street's educational and theatrical programs. ThePrince of Egypt features book by Philip LaZebnik (writer of Mulan, Pocahontas) and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (composer of Wicked,Pippin, Godspell); both creators attended the Gala. Bay Street's Artistic Director Scott Schwartz directed the reading, Dominic Amendum was Musical Director, and casting was by Stewart/Whitley.

BroadwayWorld previously announced that Bay Street Theater & Dreamworks Theatricals would be presenting a concert reading of the musical adaptation of THE PRINCE OF EGYPT today, July 11. Featuring book by Philip LaZebnik (Mulan, Pocahontas), and music & lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, The Hunchback of Notre Dame), the concert stars Norm Lewis and Aaron Lazar. The seventh annual National High School Musical Theatre Awards / Jimmy Awards were held last night, June 29, 2015, at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. This one-of-a-kind-event was hosted by two-time Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris, currently on Broadway in this year's Best Musical Fun Home at Circle in the Square. The coveted Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor on Monday, June 29 at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre, was presented to Marla Louissaint representing The Gershwin Awards and Anthony Skillman, representing the M.A.C.Y. ? Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts has announced the full cast for the premiere concert reading of the first act of DreamWorks Theatricals new stage adaptation of The Prince of Egypt.

On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra will present a concert featuring the music of Stephen Schwartz conducted by Steven Reineke - who's Broadway hit Wicked has been enchanting audiences in New York and around the world for over a decade. Schwartz's other big Broadway hit is the Tony Award winning Pippin, whose 2013 revival earned pseudo-Canadian Andrea Martin her second Tony Award.

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra will begin its summer series at Riverbend Music Center's Corbett Pavilion tonight, June 6 at 8 p.m. with a special 'Broadway Sing-Along' featuring classic Broadway hits and inviting the audience to sing along.

Industry folks will get a chance to see the newest musical by the writing/producing duo Charlie Schulman & Michael Roberts (aka The Schulberts), The Goldstein Variations, directed by Daniel Kutner. The musical, which is slated to open Off-Broadway in October 2015, will be presented in concert Monday, June 8 at 7pm at the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater at 5 West 63rd Street.
