Pace University's Musical Theatre Class of 2015 will be presenting a cabaret on May 4th at 11:30pm and the 5th at 7:00 pm at Joe's Pub at 425 Lafayette Street NY, NY.

The Yale Institute For Music Theater (Mark Brokaw, Artistic Director) will select up to three original music theatre works to be developed in an intensive lab setting in New Haven June 4-17, 2012. Submissions will be accepted December 15, 2011, through February 1, 2012.

On Monday, December 12, 2011, New York Theatre Barn will present NYTB in the D-Lounge, a monthly platform for emerging musical theatre writers (now in its 4th year), at the Daryl Roth Theatre.

Following a successful 23rd Annual Festival of New Musicals held in NYC Oct. 27-28. The National Alliance for Musical Theatre held a party at Southern Hospitality. This year's Festival attaracted over 650 people representing 300 organizations from around the country including Europe attending the eight new musicals that were presented. The YALE INSTITUTE FOR MUSIC THEATRE (Mark Brokaw, Artistic Director; Beth Morrison, Producer) announces the three original music theatre works selected for workshop in New Haven this June: Maren of Vardø, music by Jeff Myers, libretto by Royce Vavrek; The Pregnancy Pact, music by Julia Meinwald, book and lyrics by Gordon Leary; and The Profit of Creation, music by Tim Rosser, book and lyrics by Charlie Sohne.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) today announced the selections for the 2011 Next Link Project, NYMF's primary writer service program. The Next Link Project empowers emerging musical theatre writing teams as both artists and entrepreneurs by providing the training and relationships needed to help them move their musicals from readings to fully-realized productions and to advance their careers by maximizing the exposure they receive in the Festival. Twelve of the Festival's full production slots are reserved for participants in The Next Link Project.

The evening will benefit New York Theatre Barn and will feature songs by emerging songwriters Julia Meinwald (Pregnancy Pact), Zoe Sarnak (The Quad), Katya Stanislavskaya (Women on Love), and Shaina Taub (The Daughters).

The production officially opens on Tuesday, May 24 and stars Heather Mac Rae (Falsettos, Hair, A Catered Affair) and Carolyn Mignini (Tintypes, Fiddler on the Roof).
