The Greenhouse Theater Center is pleased to announce casting for the Chicago premiere of Marc Acito's touching and humorous play BIRDS OF A FEATHER, directed by Artistic Director Jacob Harvey. Based on one of America's most banned books, Acito's hit comedy brings to life the story of the Central Park Zoo's gay penguins to tell a truly hilarious human story.

All it took was a single step through the front door of The Winter Park Playhouse to be immediately transported back into the golden years of Hollywood-and the days where Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney captivated audiences through their work on screens and stages of all sizes.

Singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright will bring his tour to the Fred Kavli Theatre on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 7:00pm.

When Judy Garland stepped out onto the stage at Carnegie Hall on April 23, 1961, the raucous standing ovation that greeted her was just the start of what has been called the greatest night in showbusiness history. Award-winning actress/singer Jody Briskey will channel Garland and recreate that night's iconic performance in Garland in Word and Song at the Willow Theatre in Sugar Sand Park. The production, produced by Black Box Booking (The Jazz Singer, Danny Kaye & Sylvia), will run from January 26th through February 11th.

The incomparable Linda Eder returns to Feinstein's at the Nikko for three performances only - Today, January 25 (8 p.m.), Friday, January 26 (8 p.m.), and Saturday, January 27 (8 p.m.).

The Winter Park Playhouse continues to sing and dance its way into the hearts of audiences with their latest hit in a series of professional musicals with the Florida premiere of, Babes In Hollywood: The Music of Garland and Rooney. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30p.m., Thursday andSaturday matinee performances at 2 p.m. and select Friday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Music Theater Works (formerly Light Opera Works) 2018 season opens with Gilbert and Sullivan's THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (June 9-17), followed by Cole Porter's ANYTHING GOES (August 18-26), JUDY GARLAND: COME RAIN OR COME SHINE, STARRING ANGELA INGERSOLL (October 5-14), and Stephen Sondheim's INTO THE WOODS (December 22-31).

Four-time Tony Award nominee and six-time Emmy Award nominee Victor Garber will return to Broadway in the role of Horace Vandergelder in Hello, Dolly! tonight, January 20. Garber joins Bernadette Peters who will be taking on the title role in the iconic Broadway classic. Rock musical Myth: The Rise and Fall of Orpheus, directed by Arlene Phillips and written by Sam Cassidy, will have 9 concert-style workshop performances at The Other Palace from Saturday 10 - Saturday 17 March 2018. The production will be semi-staged and performed by a live 6-piece band.

According to Deadline, Tammy Blanchard has joined the cast of Eugene O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh starring Tony and Oscar-winner Denzel Washington. Blanchard will play Cora. Additional casting has not yet been announced.

From January 17 to February 3, 2018, the University Musical Society of the University of Michigan (UMS) presents No Safety Net, a three-week theater festival of four productions that foster timely conversations around slavery, terrorism, transgender identity, and radical wellness and healing. Two of the titles are U.S. premieres and will receive their only U.S. performances as part of No Safety Net. Performances will be held in Arthur Miller Theatre (1226 Murfin Ave, Ann Arbor) and the Stamps Gallery (201 S. Division St, Ann Arbor), with each title examining a different topic related to contemporary social issues.
