Tickets are on sale for the 2023 Solo Flights Festival at Theatre Aspen featuring works and performances starring Tony Award nominee Bryce Pinkham, HBO's Somebody Somewhere's Jeff Hiller, two-time Tony Award winner Judith Ivey, principal American Ballet Theatre dancer James Whiteside, four-time Academy Award-nominated actress and director Marsha Mason, and a work by Golden Globe and NAACP Award-winning playwright, actor and director Regina Taylor which will be directed by Tony Award and Drama Desk Award-nominated actress Phylicia Rashad from September 7-14 at Theatre Aspen's Hurst Theatre.

Westport Country Playhouse Names Mark Shanahan Incoming Artistic Director For 2024-25 Season

Westport Country Playhouse's board of trustees have announced that director, playwright, and actor Mark Shanahan has been named as incoming artistic director for the 2024-25 season. He will officially assume the artistic director position in March 2024. Currently, Shanahan is curator of the Playhouse's Script in Hand playreading series.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a musical concert, “Ari Axelrod - A Place for Us: A Celebration of Jewish Broadway,” on Monday, May 15, at 7 p.m. The internationally acclaimed, award-winning show honors the songs, stories, and contributions to American musical theater by Jewish composers, such as Irving Berlin, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and Carole King. Tickets are $25.

Theatre Works, The Confession of Henry Jekyll, M.D., David Rambo’s adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic horror novel, “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” playing April 14th through April 16th. Anna Lyse Erikson directs Seamus Dever in the titular role. David managed to squeeze out some time between his many, many producing/ writing gigs to answer a few of my queries.

Westport Country Playhouse announces casting for a Script in Hand playreading of Theresa Rebeck's thriller, “Mauritius,” on Monday, March13, at 7 p.m., directed by the playright herself. The play's title refers to the island of Mauritius (pronounced mr·i·shuhs), the origin of two extremely valuable, rare stamps that incite a conflict to gain their possession.
