YoungArts announces the 2022 YoungArts award winners—720 of the most accomplished young visual, literary and performing artists from across the country.

It’s Holiday time in New York City and theater and cabaret are returning. However, one of the legendary venues and it’s main attraction for the Christmas/New Years entertainment tradition is missing. Cafe Carlyle and Steve Tyrell. Since 2005 Steve has been a fixture in the Cafe at this time of year but Cafe Carlyle has not re-opened yet so Steve made a brief one night stop over during his current tour to entertain his legions of fans at SONY Hall last night. 

Singer-songwriter Judith Hill won a Grammy as a backup singer, but she will showcase her individual artistry when she performs in Kean Stage's summer concert series on the Lawn at Enlow Hall on July 31.

You could say Michael Mayo has music in his bones. The son of two musicians — his dad played sax for Earth, Wind & Fire and his mom sings with Diana Ross — Mayo, who just released his own debut album, will perform Saturday, July 24 at 6:30pm at the Lawn at Enlow Hall on Kean University's East Campus.

Live music onstage has returned to Kean University, with a Kean Stage outdoor concert July 17 at 6:30 p.m. by Grammy-winning jazz guitarist John Scofield and the John Scofield Trio featuring Vicente Archer & Bill Stewart on the Lawn at Enlow Hall.

All YoungArts award winners will receive financial awards of up to $10,000, opportunities to work with leading artists and will become eligible for exclusive creative and professional development support throughout their careers.

Kean Stage kicks off its evening concert series with three unique musical artists.

Sets will be programmed across three custom-designed stages designed and curated by Molly Surno, whose company Push Projects was hired to art direct Brooklyn‘s dance music club Elsewhere and in collaboration with Maktive, the creative geniuses behind Electric Zoo.

On March 26 Judith Glory Hill will present a concert from Los Angeles, sharing new work in-development with director Alexander Gedeon. Hill’s impressive repertoire includes being Prince’s protege and backing vocalist for Michael Jackson, Josh Groban and John Legend, with her rise to fame recounted in documentary film 20 Feet from Stardom.

'I wanted to personify Hollywood as a woman who's a survivor. In my career, I've been through so many peaks and valleys, and the show must go on. The message is being persistent, bringing all of your pain and your story to the stage', notes Hill.

Powerhouse vocalist and Grammy-winning artist Judith Hill has released the video for 'God Bless The Mechanic', an eye-dropping visual companion to the new R&B infused neo soul track. 'God Bless the Mechanic' is the third single from Judith Hill's forthcoming studio album Baby, I'm Hollywood! available via Regime Music Group on March 5, 2021.

National YoungArts Foundation has announced the 2021 YoungArts award winners—659 of the most accomplished young visual, literary and performing artists from across the country. YoungArts award winners gain access to one of the most comprehensive programs for artists in the United States.

 Judith Hill has performed a beautiful rendition of Irving Berlin’s “Cheek to Cheek”. “The classic songs of Irving Berlin along with many other greats were such a big part of my inspiration as a kid growing up,” said Judith Hill.

Today Concord Theatricals, on behalf of The Irving Berlin Music Company and in coordination with CLI Studios, released the third and final video in their series celebrating the 85th anniversary of Irving Berlin’s 1935 musical film TOP HAT, starring Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.
