If you follow the theatre scene of Austin, Texas at all, then you've most likely seen or heard something related to Dirty Dancing the Musical at Bass Concert Hall. The signage, the posters, the advertisements, even the ticket listings bill the production as a musical. As a part of Lexus' Broadway in Austin, it isn't far-fetched to assume the production, much like Legally Blonde the Musical or Once, is a musical version of the popular film. So we have just arrived in Durham, NC. We had our closing week in DC and with understudy rehearsals and a lot of different people being swung on. I made my debut as Mr. Schumacher. I haven't had that much fun in a while. I gotta say the cast, crew, and wardrobe were awesome as they helped direct me and guide me through my shows.Also, We had Alexendra Mateo, Nikki Spencer, and Joshua Keith all having debuts doing new bits in the show and they did great! In all DC was a success.

Eleanor Bergstein, who wrote the screenplay for the iconic film DIRTY DANCING as well as the book for the stage production, was recognized during the curtain call on the opening night of DIRTY DANCING - THE CLASSIC STORY ON STAGE at National Theatre on Tuesday, September 2. The show plays the National Theatre through September 14 before embarking on a 30-city North American tour.
