Jersey Tap Fest is getting ready to welcome over 150 dancers for four days of classes, workshops and performances next month, August 11-14 at Dancer's Pointe and Bloomfield College in New Jersey. As previously announced, playing the central roles of Frederic Henry and Catherine Barkley will be Jude Monk McGowan and Laura Atherton. Jude Monk McGowan has just finished playing Conrad in the acclaimed Punchdrunk/National Theatre production of The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable. His other credits include Joe Wright's screen adaptation of Anna Karenina, Little Britain and Faith, Hope and Charity at Southwark Playhouse. Laura Atherton's theatre credits include the recent imitating the dog productions The Zero Hour and Six Degrees below the Horizon. The other roles will be played by Morven Macbeth (LeanerFasterStronger, Sheffield Theatres/Chol Theatre), Matt Prendergast (Six Degrees Below the Horizon, imitating the dog), Marco Rossi (Histra, Ferodo Bridges) and making his professional stage debut Joshua Johnson.
Tonight, April 28, 2014, The New York Pops marks its 31st birthday with a grand gala evening celebrating the work of composer, lyricist, and arranger Marc Shaiman and director, lyricist, and writer Scott Wittman, as well as the leadership and mentorship work of corporate honoree Paul J. Massey, Jr., CEO and Founding Partner of Massey Knakal Realty Services. Gala Co-Chairs include Neil Heilberg, Todd Korren, William C. Montana, and James A. Read. Serving as Honorary Co-Chairs for the event are stars Matthew Broderick, Debra Messing, and Sarah Jessica Parker. The event will also feature Broadway Inspirational Voices, Ronald McDonald House® Rockin' the House Band and Singers, Camp Broadway Kids, and The New York Pops Kids On Stage Students.
