The BERNSTEIN CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION AT TANGLEWOOD concert was one of the largest and most significant performances taking place worldwide in recognition of what would have been Leonard Bernstein's 100th birthday. The unprecedented and unparalleled event marked the climax of Tanglewood's season-long celebration of the Bernstein Centennial.

Complete casting has been announced for the national tour of Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY which will launch this September.

The Willy Wonka and Charlies have been announced for the national tour. Broadway veteran Noah Weisberg (South Pacific, Enron, Elf, Legally Blonde) will star as the extraordinary chocolate maker, Willy Wonka, with Henry Boshart (age 10), Collin Jeffery (age 11) and Rueby Wood (age 11), alternating in the title role of Charlie Bucket. Full casting will be announced at a later date. 'We are thrilled to bring this captivating production on the road and are so excited for Broadway's Noah Weisberg to bring his immense talent to the role of Willy Wonka and to introduce our three Charlie Buckets to audiences across North America,' said producers Mark Kaufman, Kevin McCormick and Caro Newling.

Tanglewood's season-long Bernstein centennial celebration will culminate in a gala concert on Bernstein's actual 100th birthday, August 25, to be recorded by Great Performances for an exclusive U.S. broadcast premiere December 28 at 9 p.m. on PBS

When the smash hit revue SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE, celebrating the pop classics of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, opened on Broadway in 1995, director Jerry Zaks staged each beloved number with snazzy show-biz slickness and glitz, suggesting the ways they might have been performed by the artists who introduced them when in concert or on television variety shows.

Shea's Performing Arts Center announced today that tickets for Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will go on sale to the public on Thursday, July 19. Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts held Some Enchanted Evening, the 27th Annual Summer Gala in Sag Harbor on the Long Wharf on July 7, 2018, with Jane Lynch as emcee. The event benefits Bay Street's educational and theatrical programs. The evening included special performances as well as a silent auction, cocktail party, live auction with celebrity auctioneer Richard Kind, dinner and dancing. And due to future restoration of the Long Wharf, this was the final gala to be held there. The theme this year was a Celebration of the Golden Age of Broadway. A star-filled concert kicked off the evening, with songs from the most beloved musicals including South Pacific, West Side Story, On The Town, Carousel, and more, written by the hilarious, award-winning playwright Jonathan Tolins (playwright of Buyer and Cellar and Bay Street's hit comedy The Forgotten Woman). Entertainment included Broadway star and East Hampton resident Howard McGillin (Mystery of Edwin Drood, Gigi, Bay Street's My Fair Lady and Grey Gardens) performing 'Some Enchanted Evening' and 'Something's Coming'; German and Australian star Sarah Bowden (Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, A Chorus Line at the Hollywood Bowl) and Cory Lingner performed 'Whatever Lolo Wants' with special thanks from Mary Callahan and Nicole Fosse from The Verdon Fosse Legacy; choreographer Joshua Bergasse who recreated his Tony nominated staging of 'New York, New York' from On the Town; and Robert Fairchild, former Principal Dancer New York City Ballet and starred in An American in Paris on Broadway performed 'Kansas City'; Phyre Hawkins performed 'Come Rain or Come Shine'; Nick Cearley and Wayne Alan Wilcox performed a medley from Guy and Dolls; Other performers include Bay Street Acting Apprentices Kara Arena, Lewis Elliott, Allison Gray, Meghan LeFlam, Anthony Sims and Phillip Young. 'We will have a new location next year, but we had an amazing music-filled sunset party that supports Bay Street Theater.' 'The annual gala was a wonderful event and Bay Street's only fundraiser of the year,' says Executive Director Tracy Mitchell. The chocolate factory is coming to a city near you! Full dates and cities have been announced for the upcoming North American tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The tour will launch at Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, NY, before bringing Wonka's world of pure imagination to previously announced engagements in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and more. Performances for Smokey Joe's Cafe: The Songs of Leiber & Stoller begin tonight, Friday, July 6 at Stage 42 and today the producers announced the Digital Lottery and Rush policy. Tickets for both the digital lottery and rush tickets will be $30 which includes the facility fee.

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in downtown Pittsfield, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd, presents the world premiere musical, The Royal Family of Broadway. Performances run through July 7 on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage (30 Union Street).
