The Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, the nation's premier short play competition, takes place August 9 - 14 at the East 13th Street Theater (Classic Stage Company). Chosen from 1,500 submissions from the U.S. and abroad, 30 finalist plays, each running 10-30 minutes in length, will be presented.
The Segal Centre presents the scathingly funny BAD JEWS by Joshua Harmon. Having received critical acclaim internationally in the U.S., London, South Africa and Israel, BAD JEWS will have its Montreal premiere at the Segal, May 1 through May 22, 2016. This play will mark the Segal Centre directorial debut for Artistic and Executive Director Lisa Rubin.
Roundabout Theatre Company presents the first-ever New York revival of Alfred Uhry and Robert Waldman's musical comedy THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM. Roundabout Theatre Company presented its annual 2015 Spring Gala 'There is Nothing Like a Dame' last night, March 2, 2015 in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria (301 Park Avenue, NYC). The evening was a celebration of Oscar, Emmy, and Golden Globe winner Helen Mirren, who was presented with The Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre. The tribute featured appearances by Jennifer Garner & Alessandro Nivola and performances by Laura Benanti,Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Santino Fontana, Victor Garber, Donna Murphy, Kelli O'Hara, Alessandro Nivola,Laura Osnes and Betsy Wolfe.
