New England Conservatory has announced their spring 2022 Season. Highlights include NEC Wind Ensemble and Choirs offer a 50th anniversary celebration of the Wind Ensemble by presenting Igor Stravinsky's 'Symphony of Psalms,' and the world premiere commission of Chris Brubeck's first wind ensemble piece, 'Fifty'.

The Handel and Haydn Society and the Museum of African American History will present the Emancipation Proclamation Concert. Claire Dickson began recording the music for her debut album, Starland, while sailing on a tall ship in the Arctic Circle. The anchor was dropped near a beach covered with rocks, and as Dickson listened in darkness to the waves on the rocks she imagined a harmony to mimic and accompany the sound

New England Conservatory's internationally renowned Contemporary Improvisation (CI) Department hosts groundbreaking guitarist, composer, and improviser and MacArthur fellow Mary Halvorson for a three-day residency Tuesday, October 5 – Thursday, October 7.

This production was originally commissioned by the Finborough Theatre to celebrate its 40th anniversary as the play was written in 1980, the year the Finborough Theatre opened, and played to sold out audiences and gained eleven four star reviews during its run in March 2020 which was cut short by the national lockdown.

Noel Sullivan, best known for his part in the record-breaking pop group Hear'Say, has gone on to forge a prestigious acting career with numerous West End credits to his name. Noel most recently appeared in Andrew Lloyd Webber's award-winning musical School of Rock in the lead role of Dewey Finn at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. He also recently appeared in the BBC hit show Years and Years.  

The event will feature performances by Broadway's Amber Iman, Tony Award winner Gavin Creel, Sasha Allen, Jo Lampert, Obie Award winner Whitney White, Hoofer Award winner Ayodele Casel, and more.
