Whether she's flying high by bubble or just hangin out with her fellow Ozians backstage, Amanda Jane Cooper's life at the Gershwin Theatre is far from boring. As Wicked counts down the hours until its landmark 15th Anniversary on Broadway, she's taking us behind the scenes of an ordinary, Glinda-fied day.
Let's wander an enjoy one short day backstage with Glinda!

The third annual New York New Work Theatre Festival at the Times Square Arts Centre (300 West 43rd Street) kicks off the Semifinals on Monday, September 19 with Starmites, the Six-Time Tony-Nominated Musical and continues with shows featuring some of the cast members of Wicked, Finding Neverland and Jersey Boys.
As part of the New York New Works Theatre Festival, Jenny DiNoia - who is currently starring as Elphaba on Broadway's Wicked - takes center stage in an original musical production, 'Flesh and Spirit', alongside Jonathan Ritter ('Finding Neverland'), Richard H. Blake ('Jersey Boys'), Betsy Werbel ('Wicked') Brandon Leffler ('Wicked', 'Trip of Love'), Jeffrey Sousa ('An American In Paris'). The creative team includes Steven Skeels (book, music and lyrics) who was the original star of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Starlight Express'.
It is an actor's intent as old as time not to become boxed into a certain type of role or performative style, be it the ingenue, the sassy sidekick, or the bad boy too smolderingly handsome for his own good (not the worst problem to have, frankly). One essential key to eluding that conundrum is the laser-sharp understanding of who you are as a performer, outside of a given character or show.
So what happens, then, when actors known primarily for their roles in musical theatre take to the stage to perform purely as themselves? The question was answered at Feinstein's/54 Below's Broadway Sings Their Own concert on August 29, as eight vastly disparate performers stepped into the spotlight, each to perform two original songs they wrote themselves, stripped of characters to hide behind.
Today's big news: Suzanne Vega & Duncan Sheik's 'LOVER, BELOVED' gets a Houston workshop tonight, the Rockettes celebrate CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST, and the cast of WAITRESS performs today at Barnes & Noble!
After 33 previews and 565 performances, the Broadway production of Finding Neverland takes its final trip to Neverland today. Original cast member, Jonathan Ritter, who has been with the production since its out-of-town tryout at the American Repertory Theater, posted a goodbye video on YouTube for fans of the show. The 23-minute video features behind-the-scenes footage from the production's final days on Broadway, as well as interviews with the cast and the director, Diane Paulus,
As previously announced, Broadway's Finding Neverland, the magical story of how Peter became Pan, will soon be leaving the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 46th Street, between Broadway and 8th Avenue), sailing off August 21, 2016 for a First National U.S. Tour and forthcoming 2017 West End production.
The acclaimed Broadway Sings concert series, which features new arrangements of pop stars' music, will present the first of its spinoff series at Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway Sings Their Own, on August 29th at 7 and 9:30 p.m.
