Skyline Theatre Company's production of tick, tick...BOOM! by RENT composer Jonathon Larson, will run for six performances, tonight, November 7th through the 9th and November 14th-16th, 2014, at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation in the Fair Lawn Community Center in Fair Lawn.

Joel B. New, a 2008 American Theatre Wing Jonathan Larson grant recipient has written music and lyrics for several projects. His work has been seen and developed at places like Ars Nova, Lincoln Center, and New York Theatre Barn. Earlier this summer, he released the engaging premiere studio recording of his song cycle, STANDALONE.

Jessica Molaskey bravely walked to the Cafe Carlyle stage albeit with one crutch and the guidance of husband John Pizzarelli. Her replacement for the other evening when she injured her back, Bucky Pizzarelli was now in Colorado on a gig and John & Jessica were embarking on their 8th season of Cafe Carlyle performances. The National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today its selections for the 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals. Beautiful Poison, Cubamor, Great Wall, How To Break, Mary Marie, The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes, String and Stu For Silverton make up the eight new musicals that will be presented at the 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals today, October 23, 2014 and Friday, October 24, 2014 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

This November, The Square Foot Theatre Company will present RENT, the beloved work of Jonathan Larson. This will be this Connecticut based non-equity, non-profit community theatre's 36th production in 7 years. They are thrilled to begin their 2014-2015 season with this ground breaking musical. Lincoln Center Theater has announced two new upcoming productions: SHOWS FOR DAYS, a new play by Douglas Carter Beane, to be directed by Jerry Zaks; and the LCT3 production of PRELUDES, a new musical by Dave Malloy, to be directed by Rachel Chavkin. SHOWS FOR DAYS, marks the return of both playwright Douglas Carter Beane (The Nance) and director Jerry Zaks (The House of Blue Leaves, Anything Goes, Six Degrees of Separation) to Lincoln Center Theater, will begin previews Thursday, June 4 and open on Monday, June 29 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. PRELUDES, the first musical to be produced by LCT3 in the Claire Tow Theater, will run from Saturday, May 23 through Sunday, July 19. Opening night is Monday, June 15.
CAP21 Partners With RKO Stage to Develop Five New Musicals

CAP21 Theatre Company and RKO Stage have partnered to develop 5 new musicals inspired by RKO's classic film library over the next two years. CAP21 has designed a year-long developmental process during which writing teams are able to complete a strong first draft of a new musical. During each cycle, writers will participate in CAP21's signature New Works Development Program, a comprehensive process that includes: Process Meetings, Writers Residencies, Roundtable Readings, Read-Thru/Sing-Thru Table Readings and Concert Readings. With this new partnership CAP21 is receiving funding to establish the residency.
