Theatreworks USA will continue its 2016 weekend family performance series this Sunday April 3rd, with Henry and Mudge? was adapted by bookwriter/lyricist Kait Kerrigan and composer/lyricist Brian Lowdermilk (Jonathan Larson Award-winners) and is based on the best-selling books by Cynthia Rylant, illustrated by Sucie Stevenson. Henry and Mudge premiered Off-Broadway in July 2006 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. This 60-minute musical is recommended for ages 4 and up.

Rebecca Kenigsberg astutely directs her ultra-talented cast of three at a quick, proficient pace wringing out all possible laughs and pathos out of Larson's autobiographical piece. Any theatre lover with an affinity to Larson's RENT will thoroughly enjoy the gone-too-soon skills of Larson's sharp lyrics, book and hummable tunes.

RENT 20th Anniversary Tour, WICKED & More Set for Broadway Grand Rapids' 2016-17 Season

DeVos Performance Hall will be alive with the sounds of music in the 2016-17 BGR season. Kicking off the season is Tony Award® winning musical, Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, a family favorite with some new twists! Also in the season line-up will be the brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC directed by three-time Tony Award® winner Jack O'Brien, marking the 50 year anniversary of the beloved musical movie. Featuring more than 40 classic hits, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, the true American dream story of Motown founder Berry Gordy's journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul, will come to Grand Rapids in May of 2017. DIRTY DANCING- THE CLASSIC STORY ON STAGE will complete the season in June.

Original RENT Cast Members to Join Marfan Foundation in Honoring Jonathan Larson

Daphne Rubin-Vega, Fredi Walker-Brown, and Wilson Heredia lead a group of two dozen singers who appeared in various productions of the award-winning show, RENT, in a tribute to playwright Jonathan Larson as he is posthumously awarded The Marfan Foundation's Hero with a Heart Award at the Foundation's Heartworks gala on April 14. Heredia originated the role of "Angel" in the Tony Award-winning production of RENT; Rubin-Vega portrayed "Mimi" in the original Broadway cast; and Walker-Brown was the original "Joanne."

Theo Ubique Extends RENT Through May
