The most-awarded new musical AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical, A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER, the landmark rock musical RENT, and the innovative and wickedly funny HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH are coming to Boston in the Citi Performing Arts Center's 2016-17 season.

In announcing the shows, Josiah Spaulding, president and CEO of the Citi Center, remarked "We have a great lineup of musicals coming to the Citi Wang and Shubert Theatres: an award-winning hit that will open its national tour here, the return of a landmark rock musical that began its first tour here 20 years ago, the most celebrated Broadway musical in recent years, and an innovative, groundbreaking show that will rock Boston. A fifth show will be announced at a later date."

AN AMERICAN IN PARIS is the new Tony Award-winning musical about an American soldier, a mysterious French girl, and an indomitable European city, each yearning for a new beginning in the aftermath of war. Acclaimed director/choreographer and 2015 Tony Award-winner Christopher Wheeldon brings the magic and romance of Paris into perfect harmony with unforgettable songs from George and Ira Gershwin in the show that earned more awards than any other musical in the 2015 season! AN AMERICAN IN PARIS will play October 25 - November 6, 2016 at the Citi Wang Theatre. Tickets begin at $45.00 and will go on sale on Sunday, April 17.

Getting away with murder can be so much fun... and there's no better proof than the knock-'em-dead hit show that's earned unanimous raves and won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical-A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER! As one most gentlemanly NPR critic put it, "I've never laughed so hard at a Broadway musical!" GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE tells the story of Monty, an heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession by-you guessed it-eliminating the eight relatives (all played by one fearless man) who stand in his way. All the while, Monty has to juggle his mistress, his fiancée and the constant threat of landing behind bars! Of course, it will all be worth it if he can slay his way to his inheritance... and be done in time for tea. The Hollywood Reporter raves, "GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE restores our faith in musical comedy." GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE will play a one-week engagement at the Citi Shubert Theatre October 18 - 23, 2016. Tickets begin at $45.00 and will go on sale on Sunday, April 17.

A two-week engagement of the RENT 20th Anniversary Tour brings a new production of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning landmark rock musical written by Jonathan Larson to Boston. The engagement will mark the 8th time that RENT has played in Boston. In 1996, RENT kicked off its first tour in Boston in a record-shattering run, beginning a tradition of unrivaled success in Boston, including sold-out runs and surpassing box office records. A re-imagining of Puccini's La Bohème, RENT follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out. With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this timeless celebration of friendship and creativity reminds us to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters-love. RENT will play April 11 - 23, 2017 at the Citi Shubert Theatre. Tickets begin at $68.00 and are on sale now
