Blumenthal brings the largest Broadway season yet, with more than 20 shows on tap in the 2016-2017 PNC Broadway Lights and Broadway Extras lineup.  A season filled with award-winning titles, show fans can be sure Broadway's latest and greatest are headed to Charlotte.

From May 7 - June 4, 2016, SpeakEasy Stage Company will proudly present the Boston Professional Premiere of DOGFIGHT, a powerful new musical about unexpected love, loss, and brotherhood, based on the 1991 film starring River Phoenix and Lili Taylor. 

Just last week, Jay Armstrong Johnson (April 27-30); Drama Desk nominated, and Kleban Prize and Jonathan Larson Award Winning songwriter Joe Iconis (April 17); Laura Michelle Kelly (May 2, 16 & 30); Howard McGillin (May 11); and Tony Award winner Lea Salonga (April 15-17) gathered at Feinstein's/54 Below to preview their upcoming solo shows. Bernie Sanders supporter and actress Rosario Dawson, who played 'Mimi' Christopher Columbus's 2005 film adaptation of Jonathan Larson's cult musical RENT, was arrested today in Washington, D.C., while protesting the corrupt campaign finance system as part of a week-long demonstration called 'Democracy Spring.'

Goodman Theatre has announced Broadway stars John Dossett and Douglas Sills will join the cast of War Paint, a new musical starring two-time Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole as Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden, respectively. Dossett will portray Tommy Lewis, Miss Arden's husband and chief marketing officer, and Sills will portray the ambitious Harry Fleming, Madame Rubinstein's clubby confidante and faithful ally.  

Ghostlight Records will release the world premiere recording of the acclaimed musical JASPER IN DEADLAND online and in stores on Friday, May 20.

The world-premiere production of WRINGER, a new musical by Jacob Yandura and Rebekah Greer Melocik. Produced by the award-winning New York City Children's Theater, begins today at New York City Center Stage II. The production continues through April 17, 2016.

The YALE INSTITUTE FOR MUSIC THEATRE announces the two original book musicals which have been selected for this year's two-week summer lab:  Blessing, music and lyrics by Andrew R. Butler and book by Andrew Farmer, directed by Kent Nicholson; and The White City, music by Avi Amon and book and lyrics by Julia Gytri, directed by Mark Brokaw. The 2016 Institute, which runs June 12-25 at Yale School of Drama, will culminate with open rehearsal readings of each project, presented as part of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, on June 24 and 25.

The workshop of award-winning composer/lyricist/playwright/performer Max Vernon's new musical THE VIEW UPSTAIRS, directed by Scott Ebersold and with choreography by Spencer Liff and music direction by Matt Aument, will hold their industry presentations this week, starting today, March 31st, and continuing tomorrow, Friday, April 1st, in New York City.
