There's no day but January 27, 2019 when it comes to FOX's Rent.The show's young cast assembled this week for its first official photo shoot and Entertainment Tonight was on the scene to chat with Vanessa Hudgens, Jordan Fisher, and the rest of the Rent Live gang!

The Birdland Theater hosted two-time Tony-nominated Broadway songwriter and performer Amanda Green with another one of her monthly shows. Amanda brought exuberant wit and hilarious banter in an evening of her funny and moving songs, including special previews of her up and coming shows. Amanda was joined by special guest stars Kelli Barrett, Julia Murney, Ariana DeBose, Nancy Opel and Howard McGillin. Musical direction was Annbritt duChateau.

Will Roland (Broadway's 'Dear Evan Hansen') will head a cast of four in an innovative reading of 'Love Letters' by A.R. Gurney on December 9 at Feinstein's/54 Below.  The reading is organized by Getting Together for Good, a charitable giving circle, to benefit the Ric Swezey Memorial Library, a program of The Family Equality Council, which supports and protects LGBTQ families through education, advocacy, and legal initiatives. 

Back by popular demand, On The Rocks Theatre Company remounts their festive holiday bar pageant, Edelweiss, in the Dixon Place Lounge. The production is written by On The Rocks co-founders Christopher Ford & Dakota Rose with original music by their frequent collaborator Andrew R. Butler. Ms. Rose helms the production as director. Edelweiss will play four performances only - December 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd at 7:30p, in the Dixon Place Lounge. Admission is FREE. Tickets can be reserved by visiting www.dixonplace.org.

The American Theatre Wing announced today that, due to popular demand, their centennial book, American Theatre Wing, an Oral History: 100 Years, 100 Voices, 100 Million Miracles (Graphic Arts Books; edited by Patrick Pacheco), will receive a second printing. Copies of the book are now available at all major retailers.

Lola Maltz returns to The Duplex Cabaret Theatre with her one-woman musical MY MOM IS A SEX THERAPIST. Drawing from her real-life journey growing up as the daughter of a sex therapist, Lola plays multiple characters, including her Mom, a sexually voracious alter ego, and the full cast of a lesbian safe-sex PSA. In a show that Bistro Awards called 'hilarious,' this 'stellar performer' shows how she grew into the daring woman that she is today.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents How to Write a Musical That Works, part 1: The World and The Want, the first workshop in a 3-part series. One of the programs in TRU Beginnings: Opportunities for Early Development of New Work, it will take placeon Sunday, December 9, 2018.

Bill Craver, who was honored in 2013 with a Tony Award for Excellence in the Theatre, died peacefully at the age of 87 on November 8, 2018, in Austin, Texas. Born in Texarkana, he graduated from Texas High and studied for two years at Texarkana College, before transferring to the University of Texas at Austin.

Heart On Sleeve Productions (Johnnie Moore Hawkins, Executive Producer) is delighted to present the world premiere of The Apple Boys: A Barbershop Quartet Musical, a one-of-a-kind musical that propels the uniquely American art form of the barbershop quartet into the stratosphere. Hilarious and heart-warming, The Apple Boys features a book by writer and performer Jonothon Lyons, music and lyrics by 2017 Jonathan Larson Grant recipient Ben Bonnema (Adult Swim's Peter Panic, Boys Who Tricked Me), and is directed by David Alpert (If/Then, The Trip to Bountiful). Performances will begin November 30 and run through December 23 at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue) with an opening on December 9.

Join us at FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW for an evening of songs by one of the most exciting new voices in musical theatre, Zack Zadek. Zack has been named by Playbill as "A Contemporary Musical Theatre Songwriter You Should Know" and is a MacDowell Fellow, recipient of Weston's New Musical Award, a Kleban Prize Finalist and Jonathan Larson Grant Finalist, currently in residence with The Orchard Project Greenhouse and signed to Warner/Chappell music.

Broadway Advocacy Coalition and Columbia Law School continue their multi-year partnership with an upcoming January workshop entitled The Theater of Change: Building the Capacity for Impact through Artistry, Law, and Activism.

Ghostlight Records has announced that it will record The Jonathan Larson Project to be released in early 2019. The album will be based on a concert originally presented at Feinstein's/54 Below, directed and conceived by Jennifer Ashley Tepper, and featuring music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Charlie Rosen. The show features the music of the late composer Jonathan Larson, who wrote Rent and tick tick BOOM, the former an iconic Broadway landmark and the latter a beloved musical gem. The Jonathan Larson Project is an evening of Jonathan's unheard work featuring songs from never-produced shows like 1984 and Superbia; songs that were cut from Rent and tick tick BOOM; songs written for theatrical revues and songs written for the radio; songs about politics and love and New York City; songs never before publicly performed or recorded. The album will be produced by Jennifer Ashley Tepper, Charlie Rosen and Kurt Deutsch.

Two-time Drama Desk nominated writer and performer Joe Iconis will sit down for a live podcast event and performance with actress and Little Known Facts podcast host Ilana Levine on November 18th at 6:00 pm. Throughout the evening little known facts will be revealed as Joe and Ilana discuss the real side of what it is to pursue a career in the arts. Be More Chill fans can expect to hear first-hand the remarkable journey of the show- from a social media sensation to a new Broadway musical! The evening will also feature a live performance by Joe Iconis and a special guest.

This autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning composer of RENT, is the story of a composer and the sacrifices that he made to achieve his big break in theatre. The show takes you on the playwright/composer's journey that led to a Broadway blockbuster. For the first time in Brazil, Companhia Paralela brings tick, tick... BOOM! at Teatro FAAP starring Bruno Narchi, Thiago Machado and Giulia Nadruz with direction by Leopoldo Pacheco and Bel Gomes

This November, Broadway and television star Andy Mientus will bring Joni Mitchell's iconic 1970 album Ladies of the Canyon to life at Feinstein's/54 Below.
