Producers Joan Stein and Stuart Ross announced today that STANDING ON CEREMONY: THE GAY MARRIAGE PLAYS, a theatrical event to benefit marriage equality, will launch on Monday, December 6, 2010 and play a limited engagement at Largo at the Coronet (366 N. La Cienega Blvd.).

The first major revival of David Hirson's Olivier Award-winning comedy LA BÊTE starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance, Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce, and BAFTA Award winner (and star of 'Absolutely Fabulous') Joanna Lumley began previews at Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) on September 23, 2010. This new production, helmed by acclaimed director Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, Boeing-Boeing, The Norman Conquests), opened last night, October 14. This immediately follows a limited summer engagement at the Comedy Theatre in London's West End from June 26-September 4, 2010 with opening night of July 7. Richard Eyre will direct John Mortimer's translation of Georges Feydeau's 1907 classic farce A FLEA IN HER EAR , opening for previews on 4 December 2010 (press night: 14 December). Starring Tom Hollander with Di Botcher, Jonathan Cake, Oliver Cotton, Lisa Dillon, Freddie Fox, Fiona Glascott, Lloyd Hutchinson, John Marquez, Tim McMullan, William Maxwell, Rebecca Night, Maggie Service and Walter Van Dyk, A Flea in Her Ear is a comedy of errors set against a backdrop of misunderstanding and confusion. A Flea in Her Ear is a co-production with Sonia Friedman Productions and is the second play in The Old Vic 2010-11 Season. The Season is sponsored by Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

The Broadway premiere of David Mamet's A Life in the Theatre, starring Patrick Stewart and T.R. Knight opened last night October 12th at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 W. 45th St.). New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that Jonathan Cake has joined the cast of Restoration, written by Claudia Shear, and directed by Christopher Ashley. Mr. Cake assumes the role to have been played by Danny Mastrogiorgio.

Judd Hirsch, Kathy Najimy, Wilson Jermaine Heredia, Debra Monk, Michael Stuhlbarg, Michael Longoria, Dan Butler, David Pittu, Jason Butler Harner, Jonathan Cake, Kristin Nielsen and Nancy Giles have joined the cast of STANDING ON CEREMONY: THE GAY MARRIAGE PLAYS, a collection of short plays written for marriage equality to benefit Human Rights Campaign, Marriage Equality New York and New York Theatre Workshop.

Currently off-Bway in 'Restoration', Cake is a regular on NY and London stages as well as TV and film.

Restoration, written by Claudia Shear and directed by Christopher Ashley opened at the New York Theatre Workshop this week on May 19, 2010, at 7:00pm. The production runs through Sunday, June 13.
