STEERAGE SONG, ALL IS CALM, OUR TOWN and More Set for Theater Latte Da's 2013-14 Season

Theater Latte Da previously announced that a season of four adventures in musical storytelling and the continuation of a major new work development program will comprise its 16th Season. Slated for production are Steerage Song at The Lab Theater (today, September 25 - October 20, 2013), All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 at the Pantages Theatre (December 19-22, 2013), Cabaret at the Pantages Theatre (January 15 - February 9, 2014), and Our Town at The Lab Theater (March 12 - April 6, 2014). In spring 2014, the company will bring back NEXT: New Musicals in the Making, their program to develop new works for the musical theater canon.

Jerry Ruiz (Love Goes to Press, Basilica) directs a cast that includes Cliff Bemis, Teddy Bergman, Bernardo Cubria, Carole Healey, Christine Toy Johnson, Kathryn Kates (replacing the previously announced Jennifer Harmon), Natalie Kuhn, Brian MacDonald, Jennifer McVey and Rachel Moulton. Philip Goes Forth will have scenic design by Steven C. Kemp, costume design by Carisa Kelly, lighting design by Christian DeAngelis, and sound design by Toby Algya. Performances began on August 24th and continue through October 20th. Opening Night is set for tonight, September 22nd at Mint's home (311 West 43rd Street). Roundabout Theatre Company just announced that Alan Cumming will reprise his Tony Award-winning role as Emcee opposite three-time Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams making her Broadway debut as Sally Bowles in its revival of CABARET by Joe Masteroff, John Kander and Fred Ebb. Academy Award-winner Sam Mendes (director) and Academy Award nominee Rob Marshall (co-director/choreographer) will return to recreate their Tony-nominated direction and choreography from the 1998 Tony Award-winning production.

Theatre Now New York makes its debut appearance with Cabaret, Music by John Kander, Lyrics by Fred Ebb, book by Joe Masteroff, at the Pocketbook Factory, located at North 6th St. and Washington St. in Hudson, NY. It will be directed by Thomas Morrissey with choreography by Mikala Freitas and musical direction by Mary Sugar. The production opens tonight, August 2nd and runs through Sunday August 4th, and then continues Thursday August 8th through Sunday August 11th.

Way Off Broadway, Iowa's only professional musical theatre company and the residential company at the Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts is delighted to announce their Iowa premiere production, the newest version of Cabaret which won the Tony for Best Revival. Cabaret is a musical based on a book written by Christopher Isherwood, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. The 1966 Broadway production became a hit and spawned a 1972 film as well as numerous subsequent productions including a major 're-think' revival in 1998, which WOB will present.
