Following a publically and critically acclaimed opening at Wales Millennium Centre, smash-hit musical Hairspray today released all new production images.

Irregular Entertainment producers David Galpern and Charles Roy, announced today that they are producing a new production of Grease: The Musical starring Janel Parrish (Pretty Little Liars) as Sandy, Katie Findlay (How to Get Away with Murder) as Rizzo, and introducing Dylan S. Wallach (Summer Blink, (Blank) My Life) as Danny, directed by Josh Prince (Beautiful, The Carole King Musical; Shrek, The Musical), this fall at The Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre Centre, 189 Yonge Street, Toronto. Previews begin November 1, 2017, with Opening Night on Thursday, November 9, 2017. Tickets go on sale September 5, 2017.

On August 15, 2002, 'Hairspray' opened on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre, winning eight 2003 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, Best Actor (Harvey Fierstein), Best Actress (Marissa Jaret Winokur), Best Featured Actor (Dick Latessa), Best Costume Design and Best Direction of a Musical. 

The Capitol Theatre just announced that they will host free screenings of four cult classics, The Big Lebowski, Dr. Strangelove, The Fifth Element and Pulp Fiction, this September. Rehearsal images for smash-hit musical Hairspray have been released today ahead of the UK tour which kicks off in Cardiff at Wales Millennium Centre on 16th August 2017. This major UK tour will visit more than 30 venues across the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland until early summer 2018.

'We are all there for each other,' Kevin Nietzel asserts, affirming the bond that is making Maine State Music Theatre's Grease so electric. 'It is very rewarding,' adds Neil Starkenberg, MSMT's Danny Zuko. Co-star Chelsea Williams, who plays Sandy to Starkenberg's Danny, continues the thought: 'Neil and I have had conversations about how we could do this show for a really long time. It is so much fun, and I think that must be obvious to the audience. The energy is so palpable that it is a special joy to work that hard every night. Everyone is having the time of his life!' These three actors together with principals Gerrianne Perez (Rizzo), Charis Leos (Miss Lynch), Costume Designer Travis M. Grant, and MSMT Artistic Director Curt Dale Clark all joined BWW's Maine editor Carla Maria Verdino-Sullwold for the third panel discussion in the theatre's Peek Behind the Curtain series held each summer at Curtis Memorial Library. In an especially lively and far-ranging conversation that highlighted not only the challenges but also the camaraderie of this ensemble, the panel and capacity audience explored the history, characters, and production process for MSMT's summer mega hit.

Rising star Asia Monet is releasing her new original song. Asia is best known for her standout role on Season 3 of Dance Moms and can be seen as the subject of her own show Raising Asia.

Here in its Broadway version, amplified with a number of the favorite songs from the movie, MSMT has created a high-flying confection that is a valentine to a simpler era with just the right sparks of sass and sweetness that combine for an irresistibly engaging evening that is sure to prove the summer theatre scene's mega hit.

Ruth Eckerd Hall presents Tim Allen, for a night of stand-up comedy on Thursday, November 16 at 8 pm. Tickets go on sale Saturday, July 22 at noon. Special guest Lowell Sanders will open the show. *This show is for mature audiences.

'I imagine that Danny is the youngest in a family of boys, and he feels he has to live up to the name Zuko at Rydell High. In the movie he says 'I've got a reputation to protect,' and I think that goes a long way to explaining his behavior.' Neil Starkenberg is commenting on his role debut in Maine State Music Theatre's upcoming production of Grease, which begins a run at the Pickard Theater on July 19. For the twenty-eight year-old actor, the iconic part of the fifties greaser, Danny Zuko, is a dream come true, and Starkenberg has spent a great deal of time preparing for the part.

Country music's very own British powerhouse, Fiona Culley, has released her debut radio single entitled “Act Like A Lady.” Produced by Tyler Cain and Zachary Maloy and written by Maloy, Culley and Jennifer Schott, the empowering female anthem is slated to impact country radio on Monday, July 24th and is available digitally today.
