Choreographer Trisha Brown Dies at Age 80

Choreographer Trisha Brown has died on March 18th in San Antonio, Texas, after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her son, Adam Brown, his wife Erin, her four grandchildren – and by her brother Gordon Brown and sister Louisa Brown. Trisha Brown's husband, artist Burt Barr, died on November 7, 2016.

2017 marks the 6th Anniversary of PoetryLife weekend, bringing together nationally recognized poets, students, teachers, and community members all in one place to celebrate the art of the written word. Events will take place in FST's Bowne's Lab and Keating Theatre. Special guest poets Edward Hirsh and Aimee Nezhukumatathil will be participating in this year's PoetryLife Weekend. This touring program celebrates one of the genre's greats: Miles Davis. The band's explorations of this rich repertoire make it feel fresh once more, as revelatory and innovative as it sounded when Miles issued his first records back in the 1940s and 50s.
