The intense relationships between Robert Schumann, his wife Clara Schumann and the young Johannes Brahms come to theatrical life in a new romantic drama by playwright and renowned concert pianist, Israela Margalit. The U.S. premiere of Trio, directed by Rick Sparks and featuring Peter Colburn, Bjorn Johnson, Meghan Maureen McDonough, Brian Normoyle and Jeremy Shranko, opens for a five-week run on March 12 at the Lounge 2 Theatre in Hollywood.

The 1950 Broadway hit THE LADY'S NOT FORBURNING receives a rare NYC production courtesy of new NYC-based company Parenthesis. THE LADY'S NOT FOR BURNING, written by Christopher Fry and directed by Bryan Close, begins performances on Saturday, May 21for a limited engagement through Saturday, June 11.

Harry Connick Jr. to Star in ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER on Broadway - Fall 2011!

Grammy and Emmy Award winner, Tony Award nominee and multi-platinum recording artist Harry Connick, Jr. will star in a reimagined production of ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER opening fall 2011 on Broadway at a theatre to be announced. The delightful Tony Award nominated score by Burton Lane (music) and Alan Jay Lerner (lyrics) is enhanced by classics from their film scores for On A Clear Day You Can See Forever (1970) and Royal Wedding (1951). With a new book by Peter Parnell based on the original book by Alan Jay Lerner, the musical is reconceived and directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer. Further casting and creative team to be announced shortly.

The Bay Street Project's next production, Doubt by John Patrick Shanley, was the winner of thirteen theatre awards in 2005, including the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play. Bay Street Players offers the Project as an opportunity to present compelling works outside of the Main Stage series. Doubt is the fourth play in this popular 2010 - 2011 five show series.

The Alliance Theatre Lab Announces 5th Season

The Alliance Theatre Lab was founded by Adalberto Acevedo in 2001 as The Modern Stage. After three years of successful shows that included the South Florida premieres of Seascape with Sharks and Dancer by Don Nigro, Hellcab by Will Kern and Nocturne by Adam Rapp, the theatre took some time off to regroup, add new members, and refocus their mission statement. In 2005 the theatre resurfaced as The Alliance Theatre Lab, and went on to present critically acclaimed productions of Burn This by Lanford Wilson, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea by John Patrick Shanley, Sexual Perversity in Chicago by David Mamet and Orphans by Lyle Kessler. In 2009, The Alliance produced its first full season. Together, the new Alliance has refocused the company as an ensemble of theatre artists that focus on contemporary works that Provoke, Challenge and Engage the audience.

Theatre Company artistic director Johnny Clark star in the Los Angeles premiere of The Mercy Seat, Neil LaBute's caustically funny examination of opportunism in the wake of tragedy. Ron Klier directs a six-week run, opening March 19 at [Inside] the Ford. Pay-what-you-can previews take place on March 17 and 18.

The Museum of the City of New York (MCNY) (1220 Fifth Avenue), in its forthcoming exhibition Joel Grey / A New York Life, examines the enduring impact that legendary actor Joel Grey and his adopted city have made on each other. Through rare artifacts from his stage and screen career, objects from his personal collection, and his own photography, MCNY offers a unique look at New York through Grey's eyes as well as a visual retrospective of his career. The exhibition's opening night reception will take place on the evening of Monday, April 11, which is also Grey's 79th birthday. It will open to the public the following day, and remain on display through Monday, August 8.

Patrons are invited and encouraged to stay to explore DOUBT further with director Heather Bottoms and the cast. This will substitute for the Players' traditional Prelude event Sunday, Jan. 16, which has been cancelled due to unpredictable weather.
