Photo Coverage: New LES MISERABLES Stars Celebrate 2 Years on Broadway with Tony's Portrait Unveiling!

The cast celebrated the milestone with a post-performance party at Tony's di Napoli Restaurant, featuring the unveiling of a portrait featuring stars John Owen-Jones (Valjean) and Hayden Tee (Javert) by artist Dan May for the restaurant's Broadway Wall of Fame.  The party was hosted by Bruce Dimpflmaier and Tony's di Napoli and emceed by Valerie Smaldone. LES MISERABLES Celebrates Second Anniversary on Broadway Tomorrow

Cameron Mackintosh's production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's legendary musical LES MISERABLES will celebrate its Second Anniversary Wednesday, March 23 at the Imperial Theatre (239 West 45th Street). The current Broadway version of LES MISERABLES, which will end its acclaimed run September 4, is the only production of the musical currently playing in North America.

The original London production of Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil's musical adaptation of Victor Hugo's classic novel LES MISERABLES (LES MIS), which was Messrs Schonberg and Boublil's first collaboration with theater producer Cameron Mackintosh, opened to very mixed reviews from the critics in 1985. But 'LES MIS has always been big for criticism,' says Meghan Lewit for The Atlantic. 'Bombast? Bathos? That's the point. The original production [which remains intact and continues to play at the Queen's Theatre in London until today] has endured because it gave audiences exactly what they wanted.'

On April 8, 2016, at 8:00PM, The New York Pops will take center stage at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage in The Music of John Williams: From Spielberg to Star Wars. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke will lead the orchestra in a celebration of the work of legendary film composer John Williams, with a strong focus on his collaborations with Academy Award-winning director Steven Spielberg. The orchestra will breathe life into some of cinema's most iconic scores, including selections from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Jurassic Park. The concert will also include a look at Williams' seminal scoring of the Star Wars films, from their beginnings in the 1970s to today's  The Force Awakens.

It's official! Tony Award-winner Alfie Boe, the British tenor acclaimed for his role as 'Jean Valjean' in the widely watched 2010 25th anniversary special televised concert at London's O2 arena of LES MISERABLES, and then again in the West End's 2011 production, will take over the role of 'J.M. Barrie' in Broadway's FINDING NEVERLAND on Tuesday, March, 29. No word yet on whether he will travel with the show when it returns to London in January 2017.
