First up in Encores! 2017 season is Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the Tony Award-winning musical based on Mark Twain's classic American novel.

Rehearsals are underway for the Tooting Arts Club production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Hugh Wheeler from an adaptation by Christopher Bond, directed by Bill Buckhurst. The production begins performances on February 14, 2017 and officially opens on March 1, 2017 at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street). Tickets are now on sale through August 13, 2017.

Guy, Megan Masako Haley, Adrianna Hicks, Zachary Infante, Gizel Jimenez, Andrew Kruep, John-Michael Lyles, Cass Morgan, Tom Nelis, David Pittu, Tom Alan Robbins, Horace V. Rogers, Kyle Scatliffe, Christopher Sieber, and Lauren Worsham.

Encores! Artistic Director Jack Viertel today announced casting for the Encores! production of Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the Tony Award-winning musical based on Mark Twain's classic American novel.

This Today a group of artists will gather to share song, music, rap, tap, and even a make-up tutorial, all around a common cause. With protests happening throughout the city, and a generation of millennials wondering what they can offer up, DOWN TO HELP gives people a chance to help contribute funds to the Trevor Project, the Ali Forney Center, and Planned Parenthood, all while getting to witness some incredible talent.

The producers of Sweeney Todd have now announced that Tony Award nominee Norm Lewis (as Sweeney Todd), Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello (as Mrs. Lovett), Jamie Jackson(as Judge Turpin) and John-Michael Lyles (as Tobias) will join the production starting April 11, 2017.  Matt Doyle (as Anthony), Alex Finke (as Johanna), Betsy Morgan (as Pirelli & Beggar Woman) and Brad Oscar (as The Beadle) will continue with the production. The cast also includes Colin Anderson, Liz Pearce and Monet Sabel.

Prospect Theater Company continues its 2016 IGNITE Series on Saturday, November 5th at 8pm, with a concert of 35MM: A Musical Exhibition.

The Songwriter's Orchestra returns to (Le) Poisson Rouge for a third performance on Monday June 13th at 7pm. The concert will feature music and performances by Brittany Campbell, Kate Ferber, Olivia Harris, Janet Krupin, Britton Smith and Jazze Belle (Taylor Simone + Jett Carter).

?Ghostlight Records releases the world premiere recording of the acclaimed musical Jasper in Deadland online and in stores today, Friday, May 20.
