Following a successful premiere on campus earlier this year, a cast of Williams College students is bringing their production to New York. PRINCESS IVONA is an absurdist, dark-humor play by a well known 20th century playwright Witold Gombrowicz.

Paul Russell-director, casting director, and author of ACTING: Make It Your Business-is tapped to helm the U.S. regional premiere of MAMMA MIA! for the TONY-honored Barter Theatre. He steps aside from his casting projects which have included casting for HBO, 20th Century Fox, New York and regional theater. With his directing career Russell is experienced with regional firsts. He directed the regional premiere of John Guare's A FREE MAN OF COLOR in which Mr. Guare participated.
South Camden Theatre Company to Present HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES

South Camden Theatre Company, a nonprofit professional theatre organization located in Camden, New Jersey continues its 11th season and second decade of theatre in the city with a three week production of HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES. Opening January 15, 2016 at 8p.m. the play is written by John Guare and directed by Susan Jami Paschkes. HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES is an award-winning dark comedy set in Queens New York against the backdrop of the Pope's visit in 1965; as a struggling songwriter tries to keep the pieces of his life together. The cast includes Damian Muziani, Joshua McLucas, Gabrielle M. Affleck, Susan Chase, Adriana Alveario, Marjorie Sokoloff, Jessi Meisel and Colleen Marker.

Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company (Producing Artistic Director Joseph W. Rodriguez) presents Tennessee Williams 1982, an evening of two, little known, one-act plays by Tennessee Williams, both completed in 1982, the year before the playwrights death. Directed by Cosmin Chivu (2013 revival of Tennessee Williams' The Mutilated), Tennessee Williams 1982 features the world premiere of A Recluse and His Guest and New York Premiere of The Remarkable Rooming-House of Mme. Le Monde. These two chamber pieces epitomize the theatrical imagination the playwright employed throughout his long writing career combined with the freedom he found later in life. Crisply written black comedies, these fierce plays center on the demands of unlikely human relationships in exotic locales fraught with tension.

he Public Theaterannounced complete casting today for the new musical SOUTHERN COMFORT that tells the true story of a group of transgender friends living life on their own terms in the back hills of rural Georgia. Directed by Thomas Caruso and based on the film by Kate Davis, SOUTHERN COMFORT features book and lyrics by Dan Collins and music by Julianne Wick Davis, and was conceived for the stage by Robert DuSold and Thomas Caruso. SOUTHERN COMFORT begins previews on Tuesday, February 23 and will run through Sunday, March 27 in The Public's Anspacher Theater, with an official press opening on Monday, March 7. Baryshnikov Arts Center Announces Inaugural Cage Cunningham Fellow

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the successful completion of its two-year, $1M Cage Cunningham Campaign to establish the Cage Cunningham Fund for artist fellowships, named for legendary artistic partners John Cage and Merce Cunningham. BAC's Artistic Director Mikhail Baryshnikov announced the inaugural Cage Cunningham Fellow, Alexei Lubimov, at an event on Monday, December 14, held at the Center. The event also served as the official naming of BAC's Studio 6A the John Cage and Merce Cunningham Studio. The Studio is the first physical space honoring Cage and Cunningham's unparalleled contribution to 20th century art and culture.

Members and constituents of United Scenic Artists Local USA 829 have been busy speaking out against The New York Times' recent decision to leave out the names of shows' designers when listing credits for theatre productions at the end of reviews. As of today, their hard work has paid off.
