In a bold, beautiful, and powerful production of Ragtime, the Ogunquit Playhouse gives its audience a compelling reminder that, as E. I. Doctorow once said, 'history is the present.' The 1996 musical with book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty, and lyrics by Lyn Ahrens resonates perhaps even more strongly today than it did then with its raw grappling with the issues of race, prejudice, hope and violence and the struggle to define and achieve the American dream. Set in the volatile melting pot of pre- World War I America with its booming industrialization, the influx of vast waves of immigrants, and the social norms challenged by tenuous race relations, Ragtime weaves together the stories of three very different families as each seeks to find his place in the American tapestry.

The epic struggle between good and evil came to life on stage in the musical phenomenon, Jekyll & Hyde. Based on the classic story by Robert Louis Stevenson and featuring a score of pop rock hits from multi-Grammy- and Tony-nominated Frank Wildhorn and double-Oscar- and Grammy-winning Leslie Bricusse, Jekyll & Hyde has played the world over.

HH Productions, LLC, in association with The York Theatre Company will present a special staged reading of the new musical HOWARD, written by Frank Evans (Book and Lyrics) and James Scully (Music), directed by Jennifer Paulson-Lee, conducted by Jeff Saver and musical supervision/arrangements by Scott Cady.  HOWARD will be presented at Manhattan Movement and Arts Center (248 West 60 Street, NYC 10023) on Wednesday, January 27th at 1PM; Thursday, January 28th at 1PM; and Friday, January 29th at 1PM. Spirit Earth, the third concert in the season themed Our Mother Earth, featuringSchola Cantorum on Hudson (SCH) performers joined by this season'sCantorum Young Singers group, the New Jersey Youth Chorus, reached 'remarkable' status as noted by one audience member. 'I was blown away by the way the program unveiled itself and progressed using all ages to communicate with song and chant. Pittsburgh CLO has announced casting for its summer season, which includes six shows, featuring the national tours of Come Fly Away and The Addams Family, and CLO original productions of A Chorus Line, Annie, Fiddler on the Roof and Sunset Boulevard. Notably, A CHORUS LINE brings on board a slew of the show's national tour veterans, ANNIE stars Sally Struthers as Miss Hannigan, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF features Broadway's Lewis J. Stadlen, Susan Cella, Hunter Herdlicka, Joel Robertson, Emily Shoolin and Kay Walbye. Liz Callaway and Walter Charles are set to star in SUNSET BOULEVARD.
