ALL NITE SOUL 2013 Honors Barry Harris and Sheila Jordan Tonight

On this, the 43nd anniversary of All Nite Soul, the Jazz Ministry at Saint Peter's - the Jazz Church - is thrilled to honor pianist Barry Harris and vocalist Sheila Jordan. All Nite Soul begins tonight, October 13 at 5 PM with Jazz Vespersand vocalist Catherine Russell honoring Carline Ray (bassist and vocalist), and goes intofull swing at 7 PM with a concert of over 80 musicians honoring Barry Harris (pianist) and Sheila Jordan (vocalist), National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters who began their musical careers in Detroit, Michigan.

All Nite Soul, the Jazz Ministry at Saint Peter's will honor pianist Barry Harris and vocalist Sheila Jordan. All Nite Soul begins on Sunday, October 13 at 5 PM with Jazz Vespersand pianist/organist Sarah McLawler and Les Jazz Femmes, and goes into full swing at 7 PM with a concert of over 80 musicians honoring Barry Harris (pianist) and Sheila Jordan (vocalist), National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters who began their musical careers in Detroit, Michigan.

The Rossano Sportiello Trio Debuts at Cafe Carlyle Tonight

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, has announced that The Rossano Sportiello Trio will debut at the Cafe Carlyle during their two week engagement running tonight, June 11 and June 22. The Trio will be performing their program, The Smiling Piano: A Tribute To The Artistry Of Jazz Piano Icon George Shearing.

On this the 40th anniversary of All Nite Soul, the Jazz Ministry of Saint Peter's Church - the Jazz Church - is thrilled to honor National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Jazz Master, saxophonist and flutist Frank Wess. The event begins with Jazz Vespers at 5 PM. All Nite Soul starts at 7 PM with over 80 musicians celebrating All Nite Soul and honoring Frank Wess. An 'exhibit wall' in the Living Room of Saint Peter's Church will tell the story of Frank Wess with memorabilia.

The Jazz Ministry of Saint Peter's Church - the Jazz Church - announces that All Nite Soul Honoree and NEA Jazz Master Frank Wess will be interviewed on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Noon on WBGO 88.3 FM (www.wbgo.org ) by Rhonda Hamilton and on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 7 PM on WKCR 89.9 FM (www.wkcr.org ) by Sharif Abdus-Salaam.

Pianist and composer Michael Weiss leads a trio in tribute to the late, great Detroit pianists Hank Jones and Tommy Flanagan at the Kitano New York. Joining Weiss are bassist George Mraz, who was a member of trios led by both Jones and Flanagan, and drummer Dennis Mackrel, a former member of Jones' trio.
