Feinstein's at Leows Regency will continue its Winter/Spring 2012 season with THE Harry Allen QUINTET playing numbers from "The Sound of Music" as part of Feinstein's monthly night Jazz series. The show is based on their similar new CD from Arbors Records. "The Sound of Music" features acclaimed vocalist, REBECA KILGORE, and banjo/guitar entertainer, Eddie Erickson. Saxophonist Harry Allen and guitarist Joe Cohn, have brought forth the idea that if classic musicals, such Guys and Dolls and South Pacific, can be revived on Broadway, why can't we also revive the whole idea of the jazz-show album. That's exactly what Messrs. Allen and Cohn have done. The show runs April 2 at the Loews Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).
