The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and Sh-K-Boom Records will present NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation winner Dawn Cantwell in Concert. Dawn Cantwell will perform at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street) on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:30pm. The concert is directed by Travis Griesler, with musical direction by Alexander Rovang. Actor/Songwriter/Performer Jared Weiss will present his debut evening of original songs (entitled Desperate Times) at 9:30pm on Friday, March 16th at the Laurie Beechman Theater.
Jared invites you to join him and his band of gypsies (Seth Eliser, Joe Iconis, Ian Kagey and Rob Rokicki) as they unleash a new brand of theatrical rock music on the world. Equal parts Rock, Folk, and Musical theatre, Desperate Times' truthful fictions chronicle an artist's turbulent emotional life. Sagas of love, fear, hope, submission, and more abound as Jared and the gang, take you on a roller-coaster ride through the life of his mind. Come watch them live and die on stage, four minutes at a time, as they take no prisoners.

Theatreworks USA hosted its 50th Anniversary Celebration gala last night, February 12, 2012 at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.
Broadway legend and Tony Award winner Elaine Stritch appeared as the Special Guest Performer for the gala, which also featured appearances from Special Guest Presenters Kathleen Chalfant, Nathan Lane and Sara Ramirez.
