Katharine McPhee leads a brand new contemporary-sounding SMASH track titled "Good For You," written by Drew Gasparini, from an upcoming episode.

The song is written by Jimmy, the troubled modern musical theatre writer newly introduced in the second season of NBC's musical drama series, played by NEWSIES star Jeremy Jordan.

Jordan previously scored a moderate iTunes hit with the ballad "Broadway, Here I Come" (written by Joe Iconis) in the S2 premiere episode, reaching #91, and this new number is yet another example of the series branching out not only in the sound explored but also the composers being showcased.

Songs for HIT LIST, the musical-within-the-series penned by Jimmy's character, were written by Drew Gasparini, Joe Iconis, Benj Pasek, Justin Paul and others, including "Good For You", "Caught In The Storm" and the previously presented "Broadway, Here I Come".

Incidentally, the upcoming song Jimmy pens for Jennifer Hudson's character in Episode 4, the astonishing "I Can't Let Go", was written by main SMASH songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

SMASH airs Tuesday nights at 10 PM on NBC.
