Coming up this week, 54 BELOW, the new performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, rock-n-roll, the jazz world and the downtown scene, including Ann Hampton Callaway, Darlene Love, Janis Siegel, Barbara Carroll, Nathan Lee Graham and more!

On Sunday, September 16, actor/singer/composer Brett Ryback brought his immense talent to Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal. His new show The Kid with the Keys, premiering here, not only alludes to his dexterity on the keyboard but goes out on a limb to express his feelings about the theme of his show. Promising an elegant evening of troublemaking with songs from young contemporary composers like himself: Joe Iconis, Ryan Scott Oliver and Daniel Mate, Ryback presented many of his own compositions, which concern growing up in an ultra messy world. The keys? Well, maybe he has the answers to the problems.

On Oct 4, Six-Word Memoirs returns to 92YTribeca with a new show with a six-word title and wonderful theme: 'Let Me in You Narrative Whore' -- A Six-Word Memoir Story Show on the Creative Life. Six performers will each start with a Six-Word Memoir about the creative life and then open it up into a six-minute backstory. You'll hear true tales about the creation moment of the smash fiction series and Broadway musical "Wicked" from its creator, Gregory Maguire and more!

A Labor Day weekend celebration of extraordinary new songs, Tony Award-winning composer and lyricist William Finn (Falsettos, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) narrated this fresh, fun introduction to new voices in musical theatre and shared with the audience what makes a good lyric, why some work and others don't in 'Songs by Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyricists You Probably Don't Know But Should…' at Barrington Stage Co.

Originally written in 2003 and given a New York workshop reading in 2005, the Joe Iconis musical, The Black Suits, is concluding a mid-summer run at the Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, MA. Could the next stop for this energetic Rock and Roll musical about a Long Island garage band be Off-Broadway? BroadwayWorld.com columnist Stephen Hanks interviewed Iconis to gauge the potential.

Barrington Stage Company's Musical Theatre Lab (under the direction of Artistic Producer of the MTL William Finn, Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson) presents the seventh edition of Songs by Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyricists You Probably Don't Know But Should… will play Friday, August 31 and Saturday, September 1 at 8pm at Barrington Stage's Boyd-Quinson Mainstage, 30 Union Street.

For generations, musical theatre writers have come to New York City to change the world. 'Once Upon A Time In New York City' is about the people who have changed THEM. This concert will feature musical theatre writers-ages 19 to 90-who were born everywhere from Kansas City to San Francisco to Montreal, established and emerging, each writing a song about someone who has changed their idea of New York City. The concert will benefit The Actors Fund.
