From February 8-13, 2011, saxophonist Steve Wilson's 50th Birthday will be celebrated at New York's Jazz Standard.

For the third year in a row, Performing Arts Fort Worth presents the University of North Texas Jazz Artist Series at McDavid Studio. The series kicks off Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. at McDavid Studio, 301 E. 4th St.

While this is just the debut release from The Black Butterflies, a group led by 27-year-old saxophonist Mercedes Figueras, veterans would do well to prick up their ears and take note.

Grammy award-winning composer Bill Cunliffe's 'fourth stream...La Banda' has been nominated for the 2010 Grammy award in the Best Instrumental Composition category.
